Last night Ward looked like an MMA'er in there with all that clinch-work, and he looked like he was going for takedowns! Say what you will, but Boxing has unbelievable amounts of clinching in it.
Nice single leg takedown attempt by Ward and equally nice defence against it by Kov. Dana White ejaculated when he saw that exchange.
After dabbling in boxing as a teenager I became a fan of the sport. Much later as mma grew in popularity I became fascinated by the obvious complexities in regards to technique compared to boxing. Clinching is an inevitability in boxing,yet Ward uses it as an escape mechanism. It's hard to watch someone so highly revered (by the biased media) put on such a disgraceful performance.
Nope. I hate on it because it's super BORING to watch a couple of guys rolling around on the ground. Give me a sport where a couple of guys actually engage in real ACTION, throwing punches and standing up and exchanging!
