500k was only because of brook , ggg only does 97k 160 too much, it will do around 100k like his last ppv
No, Brook vs Gavin did ... 0 ppv buys. It doesn't work like that. It did 500k because: - it was cheap compared to US ppv - it was well-promoted in the UK, where boxing is booming
Not sure where you guys have this 97k number, when everyone from ESPN to HBO and even Wikipedia says it was 150k. Not sure whom I should believe, these sources or some random haters on this board. Factis, he did 10k less than Ward vs. Kovalev. GGG vs. Jacobs will easily beat 160k.
I really, truly hope this doesn't land on PPV. If GGG's other 3 fights in 2017 are regular HBO, it might not be as bad, but it seems once someone goes PPV, they tend to remain there for anything even close to a high profile fight. I love watching GGG, but I'm good on PPVs.
its a good fight capable of being on ppv imo . but the problem is the price. if this fight was cheaper then the standard ppv nowone would have an issue. this is truly a great fight. but yes like alot of you mentioned jacobs chin is suspect. not because of the loss to pirog because he got knocked down by mora!!
I'd say, seeing as GGG did 500k+ in his last ppv and also 150k-200k in 2nd last ppv(against a non-ppv guy in Lemeiux and it was GGG's 1st ppv) or maybe u r confused with Ward's 80k with Kovalev?? hmmmm
I think his PPV versus Lemieux was reported at 150k sales. We have idiots who love to harp on that number, or insist is was really 97K (Based on the earliest of results) but the PPV made money and paid everyone well. Not to mention the gate sold out in record time. 3G isn't a huge star yet, in the eyes of the public, but he's doing something right for a foreigner who speaks broken English.
