Calm down everyone, that's apparently a new development as it only came out last night.

There's a lot more to a contract than just the money, and there's no way K2 will sign it while they are furiously trying to make the Jacobs fight before Monday. Give them some time to either accept it or respond.

My impression is that GBP are going public to put pressure on K2 to accept the offer.

I think in view of GGG's age he needs to accept this type of money. If GGG's team stick to unrealistic financial demands I'll call them out too, but so far everyone's just getting excited about something GBP said 12 hours ago.

Yes I am sure this story is true.

 

Nothing wrong with that offer if it's genuine,if the Jacobs fight gets announced then Golovkin should just take this because it's a fair offer,doesn't matter what Canelos gonna make really does it cause 15million is a crazy amount of coin.

One thing to remember though, people who said the fight is still one long year away is wrong. Canelo most probably only fight twice per year, May and September. This fight is proposed in the September date. In essence it is only 1 fight away.

 

My problem with this is the fight was not offered next. If the fight was offered next 100% GGG is a duck, but we don't know what the date for the offer was.

 

It's September 2017 I believe.

Anyway, let's wait for K2 to sort out Jacobs and respond to the $15 million offer before calling it a duck.

 

If this is true, then Team GGG need to sign. If they win, they can dictate new terms for a rematch (which would probably make even more money for both sides).

 

No excuse for turning it down. GGG shoould take this.

That's not how business works and you know it. The fight will happen, but they're in the negotiation phase. A factor to consider to get the most out of negotiations is to seek to agree a premature deal well beforehand to avoid increasing demands. GGG should be willing to virtually have negotiations fall completely flat to know the true value.

This is also a separate point, is it 50:50 PPV?

 

Absolutely right, makes no sense for them to accept the deal now when GGG's team will fully expect their stock to continue to rise in the meantime before the Canelo fight could take place. But, for the likelihood of this fight getting made in 2017, it's good news that so much money is on the table already
