The way he got knocked out was very embarrassing for him. He seemed really bitter about going out like that. I don't think his ego will handle it. He'll be back against a bum.

Kinda was a little embarrassing, yeah. But when he has time to reflect back on his HOF/ATG career, I'm sure he'll be fine.

I don't think he comes back. Kovalev beat him up it took 2 years to recover and he wasn't the same this kid Smith now beat him up worse than Kovalev.
He stays retired risking his health and he knows that

Bernard seems to be good at self delusion and excuse making. I think he will be able to convince himself he was pushed out of the ring illegally and Smith should have been disqualified. He'll claim that he's become to high risk/low reward to be marketable so he can't fight on for that reason and will focus entirely on the business side of things.

Would have been a MUCH better fight last night.
As would that Detroit glass jaw that Chikkensen just fought, and quit vs ancient Campillo.

wouldn't be surprised at all. he seems to have convinced himself already that the loss was unfair. its unbelievable to think he can do anything after that.....

Well he can always say he was 52 y/o. Still amazing he was in there and competitive to begin with. He didn't need to be either. I am sure he will be OK. Now, if someone could convince Roy to stop, we could finally start celebrating the legendary careers of both these amazing fighters.

Time for Jones vs Hopkins 3 to finally settle this rivalry.
