Remember when Fury climbed into the ring after Deontay knocked Szpilka's head off?

Looked too much like WWE to me to be exciting.

Ya your right. Failed drug tests and cancelled fights are better then a knockout artist just taking a guy's head and having what was left of him hauled off to the hospital. Then having the giant undefeated English Champ who just dethroned the over a decade Ukranian Champ climb into the ring and challenge the knockout artist.

We don't want any more of that kind of shxt. More cancelled fights and failed drug test please.

We knew though that Fury had an obligation to Wlad for the rematch; and we also knew Wilder's handlers are primarily interested in milking his belt in low-risk fights, and not lose the belt in a unification fight. So this was never going to happen in the short-term.

Lucky for Fury that it never happened, cause Wilder would've destroyed that disgraceful chump.

I said at the time that there's no way Wilder vs Fury happens before late 2017 and that was assuming Fury would stay mentally healthy and ready to fight Wlad the 2nd time around and that Wilder would step up in competition.

At the time it was a breathe of fresh air in the HW division and people assumed it was the start of a new HW rivalry.

Not so long before that event Wlad was the man in the division and then there were suddenly 2 HW title fights at the same night as well as the holder of the other 2 belts in the house and none of that involved Wlad. A lot of people thought this was a symbolic new start for the HW division.

Unfortunately nothing really happened in the next 12 months and we'll have to wait until April to see a real marquee HW fight again.

Two (2) loundmouths who have between their pathetic records two top 10 opponents. Hardly exciting for anyone who follows boxing for a few years. A lot of yelling, but very little substance!

Personally I wasn't excited but a lot of casuals were. I'm just describing the general sentiment.

I was never convinced by neither Fury nor Wilder and even at that time I disagreed with people who thought Fury winning over Klitschko is a good thing for HW division. I was proven right because a year later everyone can see that Fury winning was a disaster for HW division.

5 Years?! How much credit would DW have gotten beating a 21-22 year old fury? I don't think DW even knew Fury was lurking in the shadows 5 years ago let alone ducking him. Although this would be a very interesting fight! A pick'em fight in my opinion.

If fury comes back in 5 years and is ranked top 25, wilder will still duck him. Only chance of Wilder accepting a fight is if fury is ranked 50-100 by the WBC :jaja-no:

Fury needs to worry about still being alive in five years.
