Coming off an injury i dont mind a tune up but the following fight should absolutely be against Parker.
He is worse than Molina. Molina gave Wilder some good rounds before he felt Wilder's power. Wawrzyk is just awful. His best win is Bakhtov, where he did several chicken dances. Once he faceda top fighter in Povetkin he got destroyed. Wilder should have fight at least Charr, who is back and had two wins this year. Wilder will knock Wawrzyk out in round 1.
Someone already convinced me, see post #19. I want to like Wilder tbh (b/c he's quite fun to watch with great power and a questionable chin), but he makes it very difficult.
While I don't agree with this choice, his team was very intent on getting in a tuneup because of the injury. They know better than anybody else what needs to happen.
I agree with this. Ill let Wilder off the hook for this fight because hes coming off an injury but he has to step up his level of comp in his next fight. No more C level fighter nonsense.
This is ridiculous. Ignoring how farcical it is that Wilder choose a "tune up fight", the fact that the WBC are allowing this is appalling. Seriously, WBC - enforce a mandatory defense or strip this clown, stat. Joseph Parker is potentially going have to face his mandatory around that time ffs. This is all looking corrupt as hell.
I hope at least Wilder will get busy again and stay active. I dont think he'll give us many great fights, looks like he'll just wait for a big paycheck/ cashout fight. He could've fought Jennings
he's whole career has been a tune up to no where. the wbc bent over for wilder, while other fighters such as fury had already had 2-3 final eliminators, they overlooked him to give wilder the mandatory after facing scuba scott. the have then allowed him to face the worst of the worst for over two years with no mandatory in sight the worst part is i have a strong feeling they will install stiverne as the mandatory when all he has done in 2 years is go life and death and get dropped by a journeyman and get fat.
