I think De La Hoya put up a much better fight than Pac-man.

Of course Oscar put up the better match of the two. After all it was Floyd who fought Oscar at the agreed upon full-fledged 154lb weight limit when Floyd was practically coming up a total of two weight classes from 140 to 154, having just fought his last fight at 140 just four fights and two years before(against Gatti) and having just won the lineal title at 147(vs Baldimior) the fight before Oscar.

    Oscar was notably past prime.
Pacquiao was semi-shot. Because of this, he had to make it more of a pure boxing match, which made it incredibly boring. The very threat that we expected the young Pac to have when thinking about that matchup, wasn't there.

Mayweather was just MEANT to succeed. All of the conditions were aligned to favour him. Past prime Greats, no other ATG's who were TBE level fighters like a Hearns, Leonard...decisions went his way, too. No other big draw in the sport etc. etc.

    /thread.

Just look at his reaction when Tony Weeks was the ref for Maidana I. Floyd was complaining that he was getting hit!

Then look at when Bayless was the ref for the rematch. Floyd's own Dad would have been less biased if he was the third man.

Floyd is a spoiled brat. And I for one genuinely cannot wait till the day where has retired for good.

Oscar had a nice jab which allowed him some success. Marquez already showed what was gonna happen to Pac against Floyd in both beating Pac and being humiliated by Floyd. Pac was coming off one of the better years of his career and Oscar looked pretty good and held a large size advantage. Neither were shot. Neither were peaking. I believe Floyd would beat either fighter on their best night. If you argue that Oscar would win, I'll listen. If you argue that Pac would win, I'll tell you that you're a fool.
