I honestly don't think we've seen 100% of what Linares has to offer. I think hes got a little bit of vicious furiosity in him, may I say some Barrera/Morales type of fire. He is usually very calm relaxed and methodical in his fights, But I get this hunch that he will throw down nasty style if he is ever pushed to the limit. Gamboa will definitely push Linares to the limit 100%, and I'd love to see that fight!
Honestly if JuanMa doesn't have a problem with the power of PDL he will easily easily school him and out box him badly over 12 rounds. JuanMa is a huge 122lber with a ridiculously nice lead Right Hook. If JuanMa can stay out of ***** street and keep PDL honest for 12 rounds, he easily wins wide UD.
Perhaps for Linares....but Valero on the other hand you cannot talk me into . His taxi cab driver kayo days are over and he will be found shortly
Weird; exactly my thoughts :good The only thing in question for me in this fight is JuanMa's chin. We have no reason to question it, but he has also never had a solid chin-check
Everyone that takes Valero to beat Gamboa are basically saying that there will only be 1 outcome to this fight, KO for Valero. Well there is no way on this fkn earth that Valero could box Gamboa to a decision over 12 rounds ...Let them all think that Valero will win with that punchers chance. IMO Valero would get carved up and burned alive by the Cubano :deal
No doubt, you break down a shot, former smaller guy with no power and that's considered better than a larger, harder hitting gate keeper who really trained for the fight with Gamboa. Larios would have done in by Gamboa in 1 round, seriously, guy has nothing to keep Gamboa off of him.
Linares is better than Valero at least. Linares has good combinations and good boxing ability in the center of the ring at least, whereas he's not as skilled when pressed or facing a high workrate, as it disturbs his style.
For a 22 year old, Linares is a highly accomplished champion with a lot of skills. He still has time to develope into a more well rounded fighter, so I think dismissing him at this point is a bit dumb. :good
J, that avatar has me pulling a Cheshire Cat grin. Is he coming back? Is he? Will his kingdom have no end?
Jorge Linares was scheduled to fight Feider Viloria but had to withdraw due to a right shoulder injury. Oscar Larios stepped in at late notice and stopped Feider in 5 rounds, this may mean when Linares returns to the ring he may fight Larios in a rematch as Oscar Larios won the WBC Interim belt. He reminds me so much of a young Oscar De La Hoya, I think the Undefeated Venezuelan WBC Featherwight Champion may be a future p4p Champion
