Jamie Mcdonnell vs Paul Butler apparently set

Would be a good fight this. Would like Butler to win especially after what happened in Monaco but I think the considerable height and reach advantages may be telling. However, if he is killing himself to make weight then Butler could outwork him.
Definitely one to look forward to if it goes ahead.

 

McDonnell should win this I don't really rate Butler as much as most people. He's quite skilled but doesn't move his head much and is easy to hit and teaming up with Joe Gallagher defo won't help with that.

 

Yes, they have mentioned moving up quite a few times now.

I think if Butler fights the right fight then McDonnell could struggle, have people forgotten he was a very lucky man to get the decision in his last fight?

I thought he was outboxed and out fought by a 5 foot 4 Solis.

 

Jaime would be better suited moving up in weight especially after his last fight were he Defo showed signs of weight making problems, I think it's a wrong fight for Paul based on size and weight but no ability has both are very good

 

He has always lacked a jab, which is crucial.as you say moving to a defensive Neanderthal like Gallagher won't help in that department. To go up against a great jab, with no jab of your own is a big ask alright.

Plus as said the huge size difference.

Paul does move his head though....just that he moves it with his footwork, as part of whole-body movement, not independently on its own....

If he is to win his footwork in-out will be crucial....

...and if the tiny Solis can do it....there is hope for Butler, no?

 

In a closely matched fight, the safe bet is for Tesco Joe's man to come second.

Absolutely, if they had any decency they'd give Solis a rematch.
