It was a joke that you completely didnt get. There was nothing wronmg with me putting something in and saying that part is a wind up.
Once again you are missing the point. Its not just about the size of MWs its about good big MWs. So which do you feel were the good big MWs? Im not saying there arent some but as a general I dont think there was that many during that era compared to Hopkins time

 

Havent ignored anything. Hearns win over Hill was at LHW not MW. I think Duran put in a good performance against Barkley but we saw when Barkley fought a MW like Benn it was a different performance again and I in Hearns Barkley beat a former WW.

A former welterweight that beat Virgil Hill at 175, you know, the fellow that you consider a great lightheavy, lol. This would even enhance my point that Barkley was a huge middleweight and the past it, old Duran still beat him thereby proving, when Duran was on, because he was hit or miss above 147, he could hang with the big middles. As far as the Benn fight is concerned, the 3 knockdown rule was in effect, which is why the fight was stopped. In the case of Barkley, his best middleweight win was probably Kinchen or Hearns(the guy who beat Hill at 175).

 

Probably Shuler or Roldan. Who do you think are Nichols, Holmes and Eastman's best victims at 160?

 

What don't you get? I already mentioned the 6 footers that Hagler beat that were good and tough. He also twice stopped over 6 foot Fulgencio Obelmejias who eventually won a 168 pound strap against a solid champ in Chong Pal Park.

All the People saying Hagler ducked Mike McCallum are full it, Hagler retired in 1987, Mike McCallum didn't fight for the Middleweight title until 1988 and he lost that fight to Sumbu Kalambay via UD. McCallum was a great super welterweight Champion. MacCallum couldn't beat Toney at middleweight. I have seen McCallum saying the great fighters ducked him, although he fought and beat some very good super welterweights. His best wins at middleweight are over Herol Graham, Steve Collins, Michael Watson and Hagler probably beats these guys too. No one knows who would have won with McCallum and Hagler. I would have liked to have seen this fight, Hagler could have ended Mike McCallum's career prematurely like he did to many others.

Golovkin if he beats Jacobs, Canelo, Derevyanchenko and a couple of A grade fighters, will have a relatively similar resume to Hagler's. Given Hagler is seen as a Top 50 ATG, Golovkin then could end up as a Top 100 at LEAST. Therefore, he did technically dare to be great in the same way Hagler did.

He's 34 with 0 a level fighters on his resume somehow he's going to find enough to put him in the same category as a Marvin hagler? Not likely

 

With all due respect Gannicus, beating those 3 names will not get GGG in the Top 100. He would need at least a ward or kovalev, even with that it might not be enough, top 100 is pretty exclusive.
