The Eubanks will seriously damage British boxing if this PPV sells

I'm not having a pop at anyones views here, just the whining as I see it. I've 'liked' your posts in this thread I think....

 

Channel 5 are happy to have boxing on the channel but wanted a higher level of boxing from Mick. I can remember Bob Ajisafe stating in the press that Channel 5 wanted European Title fights level as an absolute minimum on the channel and Mick couldn't do that regularly- hence the move to Cyclone.

There were hints in November that Cyclone were going to up their dates with Channel 5 but the sad events with Gutnekcht may have stopped that. It's a shame because the cards were certainly no worse than those on a Boxnation or even Sky Sports in terms of actual entertainment.

 

it ain't about the money at all everyone knows a tenner is nothing, I just think to support this cranky deluded div in any way is stupid, for a joke fight after he's tried to make a man of himself calling out ggg and then coming up with all excuses like the sop that he is, and then giving us this.

Eubank Jnr is no doubt going to spend 2017 calling out big names whilst fighting nobodies and cashing himself out or listening to his crackpot fathers ridiculous demands that get them nowhere.

Don't even rate Jnr anyway so it's not about parroting anybody I just think to support this joke, this embarrassment in any way is backward

 

Whether you man like it or not this ppv will sell,

Most people on the street are big Eubank and Joshua fans because they are explosive exciting fighters.

You are forgetting how many girls fancy these guys and will flock to buy this ppv in bulk, trust me.

itv aren't stupid, you don't remember the fiasco with them massively overpaying for football league rights 15 years ago?

 

If they are willing to fight Quinlan as PPV, then it does make you wonder how far they will go. What's the limit- top 50, top 100? Does it matter at all who Jr fights?

He's only 27, and I get the feeling that if him and Sr are satisfied with the money they make this time, they will milk this ITV 'deal' for all it's worth without Jr fighting anybody that makes any boxing sense.

I'll be interested to hear what they say in the aftermath. It's already a sideshow, but it could turn into an ongoing sideshow that has little relevance to the rest of the boxing world, just Jr fighting in glorified exhibition matches defending his IBO 'world' title. It could be years until he steps up and fights the sort of fighter he should be going in with right now.
