Nah, I think Golovkin should move up to Super Canelo weight first and fight for that title. If he wins then he can go back down to Golovweight and fight 40 bums and call himself a 3 division world champion.

Not so sure bout that one IB.

Im of the same mind as CST on this, not so much that I believe it WILL backfire, but I do believe Jr is going to take full advantage of this opportunity to finally get that big payday and may just be motivated to re-establish the family name.

He was filling out to 176/178 when campaigning at MW, and was beating some solid names and in fine fashion before his 11 1/2 rd clowning by Sergio who became the first man to truly outclass Jr, but it was completely due to the difference in hand and footspeed, and even moreso Sergio's extremely unorthodox style.

He made a few mil in his fights vs Rubio, Lee and Martinez, but never got that big money he was looking for, not that he needs it considering who he is.
Point being, Jr very well may turn up in great shape, as in his Lee/Rubio days.
If in fact he does, Canelo will find himself against the ropes for the entire fight, backpedaling and crying foul every time Jr drives a hook to the beltline.
Im sure Oscar knows this potential scenario, so if Jr shows up in shape, 2012 type shape, Oscar has a ref to ensure Yellows high trunks are allowed and the beltline banned.
The judges will watch Yellow be pushed and banged away at, only to give him a 114-113 type win.

I think Canelo will just be too quick, too sharp and too accurate for Chavez Jr.

This will be a one sidea beat down by Canelo. Jr is all name no danger, that's why both GGG and Canelo are willing to go up for him. This will be Martinez style execution.

Canelo gonna step in the ring against a man 20lbs bigger and suddenly think to himself 'so this is how it feels'

I really, really hope Chavez has his Rocky Balboa moment and shows up shredded. Just the look of ODLH and Saul's faces when Jr whips off the shirt to reveal washboard abs would be worth the price of admission.

    Canelo probably stops Chavezombie.
I hope no one give Canelo any props after the win. This fight does nothing for boxing.

I always thought jr was more naturally talented and a better fighter than canelo just undisciplined and unmotivated

I'm saying Canelo beats, and maybe stops, Stupido Jr. But as in all Canelo fights, he'll have his insurance policy. Chavez has no chance to win this fight.

If Junior can lay down the cheeseburgers (fajitas? burritos? tacos?) for a couple of months and train like he means it, I believe that he can give Alvarez the hiding of his life. But he's got to find that fire in the belly from somewhere. One thing I have to admit about Alvarez, he always looks in shape.

Also, now I'm hungry for Mexican food :babeando:
