nah i gave it to jack, i had it even or even a round to jack going into the last round. Based on cleaner punching.
some of the shot he landed were loud, degale was flashy and could understand why a judge would be influenced by volume of punches. its how it goes sometimes

I maintain that we throw the word 'robbery' around too easily, this was an incredibly close fight 'yet again' and Jack could probably have done enough for sure, but a win loss or draw was a feasible result in my opinion!

I actually think its went the other way on here mate. Its almost frowned upon to use the word robbery. Still stand by my opinion on the fight tho. Will watch it a second time tho. Actually wish i didnt because i ve went from hating degale and finding him over rated to changing my mind on him in recent years.

If it was based on heart the other night i would have gave him the draw. But on the four aspects they judge a round on...i find it incredibly difficult. Have it 9-3 jack maybe even 10-2. Plus jack took some of his rounds much bigger. Not that it matters on the scorecard.

For the record, I thought Jack was winning the fight going into the last round. I think he was a victim of his good work not being as obvious (DeGale's head not visibly being snapped back by his jabs for example), and DeGale getting too much credit for his combinations. Jack even mentioned this himself after the fight when he calmed down. If the judges had the benefit of TV replays, I think they would have scored differently.

I personally prefer that explanation than Mayweather's 'the judges were paid off' and bringing the whole sport of boxing into disrepute. I think a lot of people (me included) would stop watching boxing today if they believed half of what Floyd had to say.

It was one of those fights that the traditional scoring methods don't do justice, If this was a game of street fighter and each fighter had a damage bar, Jack won hands down, Degale landed lots of shots while jack was blocking crouched down at the corner of the screen taking little damage only to then come out and land more powerful damaging shots. Silly analogy but that's how i saw the fight.

I had Jack winning 114-112 after watching it again last night but I can see how people may have gone the opposite way to that.

I felt that Jack determined the tempo of the fight and made the ring feel smaller for Degale. Degale knew this and tried to stem the tide by working on the inside more. Although he had some scoring success with that, he wasn't hurting Jack at all and Jack's counters were really punishing Degale.

Degale had quicker feet and hands and he should have perhaps utilised them more by using the jab on the outside instead of getting drawn into a war.

It was a really good fight though and both fighters should take credit for that.

I had Jack win a close decision even with the knockdown......................he won the first half of the fight pretty clearly, he is the one who wants a rematch...................Jack does not want a rematch for some reason........................it was a good fight and I am not bothered by the maj. draw.................
