I would've loved to seen him fight all the top 175 guys. His LHW reign was short lived and at the tail end of his career he was taking on older fighters (just like himself,) so I don't put much stock into what he did after he left 168 lbs. The Hopkins fight was impressive given Bernard's stature at the time, but Joe didn't campaign long enough at LHW to assess how good he could've been.

His chin didn't hold up from shots by Hopkins and Jones Jr, so I do wonder how it would hold up against guys like Kovalev, Beterbiev and Stevenson. I'd also be very curious to see if he'd be throwing a high volume of punches against guys I don't think he'd be able to actually hurt.

The Ward fight would've been a dream matchup at 168 lbs, two elite SMW's going at it.

we all know if this guy ever suddenly disapears from the forum that he's topped himself. I wouldn't be surprised if it was on a Sunday as well :)

    i didnt see eubank.

so in that case i add- from two divisions away at short notice someone who'd won nothing in years for an unrecognised vacant title, standing in for the real opponent. still a good win by newbie joe, this was one of his best ever his whole career, this last minute stand in from two divisions away wjho had won nothing in years.

    yuor flop is now complete.

    This.
Many forget it was old bloated end of career Calzaghe that went up to LHW and became champ.
If it was old end of career Calzaghe I would favour him to beat them all.
If it was prime Calzaghe I would favour him to beat them all and even more convincingly

Calzaghe prime vs Ward prime at 168lbs is one of my dream all time fights. A pick'em fight between two world class ATG's.

calzaghe beats all the 40somethings in todays LHW division, since that what he proved he could do, albeit by the narrowest of life and death margins in some cases and not without having to cheat to prevent getting stopped.

against other opponents there is ZERO evidence to suggest calzage wins.
