The last person who presented such lip towards me, was swiftly removed from here.

    You have been warned.

Does anyone else want to point out the obvious flaws in this argument? Life's too short.

It's always tempting mate but unfortunately one post on a forum isn't going to change the way people think about things. Only experience can do that.

I think that last sentence is a bit harsh, he was obviously a talented fighter who happened to run into a more talented fighter in Eubank Jr. The fact ' he was taking significant shots from some iranian gym rat' as you put it says more about how badly he was affected by the beating drom Eubank than his ability as a pro.

    Maybe..... Maybe.

However lets not rewrite history through sympathy. He was a durable boy who had a high work rate. Other than that there was nothing special about him - Just your typical British come-forward plodding grafter style fighter that you will see again on the next Skysport's Fight Night card.

He might not have been a world beater but that doesn't mean he's not deserving of sympathy. He had massive tezzers for getting in the ring and putting his body on the line to earn a living in the first place. That deserves respect.

I never said he didn't deserve sympathy.

I sympathies for the consequences he now has to suffer, but ultimately he was the one who has put himself in that position,

Also I do not want what has happened to him to blur my opinion of him overall as an athlete. Just because he has suffered, doesn't mean he was suddenly a great fighter. In my opinion he was the run of the mil plodder. He never possessed a great skill set or formidable standout power, he was just a good domestic level boxer who didn't know when to quit.

He was just a good, domestic level fighter I agree. I didn't realise he'd been built up into anything other than that but fair enough.

I don't think he's been built up into something he wasn't in this thread but he has been denigrated to a lower level as a fighter. It may have been a throw away line though, not intended to read the way it did. I also agree he was a domestic level guy but you still have to have talent to reach that level.
