History has proven that many fights have been fixed, esp. when a fight is held in one fighter's home town, the judges are crooked, referee, boxing commission...............remember when the Gambino family owned fighters?

El Pollo is middleweight chicken, he refused to fight Golovkin at 160 for the 160 lb. title, then signs to fight a drained Chavez at 164.5! Someone explain that!

If he's a middleweight chicken, then why is he trying to make the fight with Golovkin for September. More importantly, as the Golovkin fanboy that you are, do YOU want to see GG vs Canelo in September???

Is that something you want to see?? It doesn't seem like Golovkin is interested in fighting Canelo. I know you like to live in the past about how Canelo dropped the MW title, but can you move into the present? Now here we are with an opportunity to see Canelo vs GG in September. As a Canelo fan I want to see the fight happen this year. Do you? It seems to me that Golovkin is trying to find ways to get out of having to fight Canelo, using the fact that Canelo doesn't have a MW belt as an excuse like he doesn't need to fight him. (Golovkin said this in a recent interview)

That to me sounds like he's ducking Canelo with that mantra. It just seems to me that Golovkin did everything he could to get Canelo to vacate that belt, and now that he has the belt sees no reason to fight Canelo. That to me is cowardly. He should need to fight Canelo since he's the biggest fight out there and the Lineal Champ of his division which should mean something. I hope Golovkin proves me wrong and says he wants to fight Canelo if he beats Jacobs, because I've never heard Golovkin say that he actually wants the Canelo fight. All he wanted was Canelo's belt and used boxing politics to get it without having to fight Canelo which is cowardly. We as fans need to hear that Golovkin wants to fight Canelo in September, and we haven't heard that from Golovkin. You can go on all day about how Canelo dropped the MW title to go back down to 154 (his division BTW) to become WBO champ, but that doesn't excuse Golovkin for showing absolutely no interest in fighting Canelo since then. There's a reason why you keep bringing that up, it's to distract from the fact that Golovkin has done nothing to show interest in fighting Canelo this year. As it stands, it seems that Canelo and GBP are the only ones actually trying to make a fight with Golovkin, so who's ducking who?

Golovkin has said he wants to fight El Pollo many times over and over again, I even have it on my DVR! Explain why El Pollo refused to fight Golovkin, the WBC ordered him to fight Golovkin as Golovkin was his mandatory. It was El Pollo who dropped the title, it was his and Oscar's decision to do such. Oscar does not want that fight and has just recently said that El Pollo might not be able to fight Golovkin in September because he would be too sore from fighting a difficult fight with Chavez. Golovkin has nothing to fear from El Pollo at all, except crooked judges, referee, etc., but I don't think he will need the judges anyway. El Pollo would like for Lawrence Cole to be the referee for such a fight, the worst referee in boxing history..............perhaps El Pollo will fight Golovkin when Golovkin is 40 years old?

When did GG say this? When Canelo was WBC MW Champ or after?

The lineal championships have become a toy for bigger names that have no intention to fight the top of their division or even at the weight.
The whole thing has become absolete.

Just look at the 160 lineal insanity.
The guy who has it now has never fought at 160, and won it from a guy that never fought at 160 either. And he won it from a guy that shouldn't even have it anymore at the time of the fight. And to make it more insane... the lineal 160 hasn't been fought for between 1 and 2 since 2010

It's true that Middleweight (160) hasn't been a unified division for many years. Long before Canelo became Champ by beating Cotto, the #1 and #2 Middleweights weren't fighting each other.

That has a chance of changing now though with Canelo and Golovkin. The lineal title is supposed to matter, and I Just think that it's awfly convienient for Golovkin backers to act like it's meaningless. Bottom line, the Lineal Championship is supposed to matter. It's really the one thing that seperates the politics of boxing from the fighting.

It's sad that boxing politics have become more important to some fans as to who is the best in a division than who is the lineal champion, but I really don't think that's the case, I think it's only become less improtant to those who support Golovkin, since it's something that he doesn't have.

Now that Canelo has made his intentions clear about moving up from Light Middleweight to Middleweight, Canelo should be the mandatory at this point for the winner of Golovkin Jacobs, based on the simple fact that Canelo is the Lineal Champion.

I also don't think BJS is ready for either Golovkin or Canelo yet. BJS would be a good fight for either Canelo or Golovkin after Canelo and Golovkin fight each other. Canelo vs Golovkin should take precedence over any other fight for September if Golovkin and Canelo both come out victorious and un-injured in their next fight. Crying about Canelo dropping the MW belt last year isn't going to make the fight any less appealing now. This is the fight that the fans want to see, Canelo is the undisputed Lineal MW Champ and Golovkin would have the Major World MW belts (except for WBO) if he defeats Jacobs.

Golovkin would need the validation of being known as the Lineal Middleweight Champ to be undisputed champion. I don't think Lineal Championships can become obsolete because it's the one thing that prevents promoters from just handing titles to fighters.

Canelo won the MW title in the ring against Cotto.
Then he gave Golovkin a chance to take it at a CW but Golovkin declined and fought Wade instead.

    I think you're wrong here.
The lineal has become the perfect boxing politics championship because of a) it's historical significance. b) there's no mandatory, you can pick your own opponents. c) you don't even have to defend it at the weight, everything under it will suffice. d) you can put up as many roadblocks and perks if you like. Don't agree? Then no shot. e) you never have to give up home advantage f) you can determine drug testing yourself... and I'm pretty sure there are a few more I didn't even think of.

I hope they can sign contracts sometime this year. I am sure they want to fight but there are
bigger stakes at play. Canelo is Golden Boy 's cash cow , GGG for K 2 with Klitschko win or lose
to Joshua unlikely to fight much longer . Boxing though is full of intangibles and it would be
a shame if this fight never occurs because of a defeat or injury and instead in the future look
backed as a potential great fight remembered as a dream fight that never occurred.

I know the Bumlovkinites hate it BUT the FACT of the matter is - Alvarez is THE Middleweight champion by virtue of the FACT that he beat The Man who beat The Man.

Just why the **** is he riding a horse? That has nothing to ****ing do with boxing? The way it's cut in there, it looks like the scene from a movie where he's about to rescue his daughter from a moving train. It's so random and out of place. Why don't they cut to Chavez bouncing on a pogo stick or entering a soapbox derby while they are at it? Cut to ****ing scenes of him bowling? It has no impact on the upcoming fight. Do you want to watch these assholes work on their car or get their teeth cleaned at the dentist? I don't.
