I disagree, yes sure Khan can have a little warm up and then get knocked out by the winner of Thurman/Garcia and he will get knocked out again, I have absolutely no doubt, Khan will never recover from that Canelo KO. Anyway he can do all that for far less money than he would get for a Brook fight, and it would be far less and then his career is pretty much over, it's a long way back and I'd think he'd retire. And you can say "the Brook fight will always be there" but he wouldn't be getting 60% of anything after getting another beating and it would lose even more appeal and that's why Khans team haven't walked away completely, they know they are taking a huge gamble with a potential monster payday against Brook. Brook on the other hand should fight Spence Jr as far as I'm concerned, If it's in the U.K. (I think it will be) I give Brook a solid chance but even if he loses they will claim weight issues (almost everybody connected to Brook says he should be at 154 anyway) and then there are some really big fights at 154 for him. They would be on Sky Box Office PPV so he would earn very good money and the British boxing public will remember Khan priced himself out and ducked Brook. Khans legacy will be forever tarnished.
Brook does not deserve 40% let alone 50%. Compare their recent numbers - Khan on Showtime did pretty well for someone who was performing on Showtime pre-Mayweather deal..no one knew what Showtime is. Brook is only doing pretty good numbers in the UK now because he has the SkySports/Matchroom platform. Give Khan that very same platform and see how big his figures will be - he didn't have a platform as big as this when he was a regular in British TV and was still doing better numbers. Brook has no notoriety in America. Khan would pull Americans to this British super fight, as well as from other countries across the world. Khan draws the bigger numbers, is the bigger draw, period. The IBF title doesn't have any clout in a fight of this magnitude. Having a cereal box belt doesn't add any sort of power whatsoever for fights like these. I don't really like Khan but you have to call a spade, a spade.
Khan had the sky platform and it bombed They caught on to his smoke and mirrors Cloack and dagger career and knew the image would unravel and hkow right they were
If it is for a title then Brook-Khan shouldn't even be a 50/50 split since Khan is not a champion and honestly hasn't done anything at 147. If the fight occurs at 154 or something then you could argue 50/50. Even with Khan being the more popular fighter Brook would be affected more with a loss here than Khan would.
Most of the money for this fight is coming from the UK though. There's no doubt Khan is a bigger name worldwide but the difference in the UK isn't big as Khan hasn't been fighting there.
where am i posting lies? i agree with everything you say above. i meant khan been mandatory for garcia's belt for one year since he fought guerrerro. and yea, that's why i said khan can get winner in october/nov
Khan is the A side and thats very easy to see. That doesnt matter anyway because this fight will never happen. Brook will hurt that boy and Khan knows it himself.
Khan had the sky platform and you know what happened sky bailed as the pre ppv numbers for the Mcclosky fight were so low sky cancelled the PPV. Khan does not draw bigger numbers in the UK. The money is coming from the UK and to think Khan is worth double over brook is absurd considering Khan hasn't drew anything over here for years.
How so? Both lost by knockout. At least khan went out on his shield where Brook seemed to quit. I was very disappointed by that ending and am glad I didn't pay for it.
That's one way to look at it, but most people in the UK think that if Brook was a bit better he'd have beaten GGG ... hence they give him credit
Because brook met GGG head on willing to trade and took GGG's shots. There is a big difference being pulled out due to a fractured eye socket and being knocked out cold. Khan lost brutally.
