Hopkins is more boring than John RuiZ!!!

Hopkins isn't as bad as Ruiz, but he shouldn't be given a free pass for his clenching, holding and butting.
It was pretty damn ugly.
The only reason I'm not more critical is that when your as old as Bernard, you have to adapt to win. If he hadn't employed the style he did, then he probably wouldn't have beat a masterful boxer like Winky.

 

Considering his age and who he was in against, he did what he needed to do to win. I'm not saying he is exciting, but he is in his 40's and still in there with the best pound-for-pound guys in the world.

I didn't pay for this fight, and I'm a fan of Hopkins (watched it at friend's house). You know why? Because it was Hopkins vs WINKY WRIGHT. Either way you look at it, it was going to come down to a decision.

To anyone who bought this fight and expected anything more than they got, you are idiots. What the hell did you expect with two great technicians and defensive geniuses. If you are looking for a WAR then don't watch a fight like this, I don't know how anyone expected any different.

 

What are you talking about BoringHops (thats the full version of BHOPS) has a patented lunging missing right lead, headbutt, left hook to the hip, headbutt.....slightly more entertaining than Ruiz maybe.....no....yes.....no......unsure

 

LAst night i saw 2 things .1.Hopkins is a very dirty fighter...and 2. Winky is a class act fighter because he didnt retaliate in a dirty fashion and tried to box.i dont know if many could do that im not sure i could have either

 

Firstly I gotta apologize, just re-read my post and boy did I sound angry. . Second, I see what you are saying but if you expected Hopkins to beat on Wright like he did Tarver...:-(. Tarver isn't even near the same level as Winky Wright in boxing skills nevermind the amount of openings given up.

Why people bring up his age to defend Hopkins style, he has a boring style and is borderline illegal. That's not my problem, if he finds it hard to fight cough cough younger fighters.

Why doesn't he create the senior tour and fight guys over 40s and leave younger fighters fight for worthy titles.

 

I just can't watch him. I really can't. I can't believe he's on PPV view in the States. He should pay us to watch him.

 

I laugh everytime Hopkins says boxing needs him. Boxing loses fans the way he fights
I also love how he always says knockout when he only has one since Trinidad
