Howard Davis Jr. Ray Leonard Muhammad Ali Greg Page, Michael Dokes, Mitch Green( in their early years) Hector Camacho Roy Jones Jr. Bernard Taylor Meldrick Taylor.
I'd say that Jones' impeccable balance and coordination played a large role in those left hooks as well. Having great reflexes doesn't guarantee you'll be able to recover from those bursts immediately into another burst, which is essentially what Jones made an ATG career out of doing. While not as fast in a PfP sense, one present-day fighter who pops to mind as having one without the other is Manny Pacquiao. Jones was a great all-around athlete.
Handspeed - Mentions to Meldrick Taylor, SRL, Camacho Reflexes - Mentions to Roy Jones and Sweet Pea.
Howard/Meldrick is one I'd definitely be interested in scrutinizing, given the opportunity. Good to have you respond to that earlier post. (I try to submit only to threads I've read in their entirety, and much appreciate your taking the time and effort to do so with my earlier comments in this one.)
Hands down it's Roy Jones and Hector Camacho. Don't mention that little fraidy cat Ray Leonard. Better candidates are Meldrick and DLH (1992-1999)
Sure DLH. I remember when he used to fight on ABC wide world of sports as a upcoming prospect he was pretty fast with the combinations. The combinations he used on Chavez he had no answer for and just sliced and diced him. He's still not Camacho or Jones though.
I imagine how fast Cassius Clay must have been when he was an kid amateur bantamweight. That's gotta be the fastest fighter ever.
