I love GGG and maybe we can revise this in time, but he hasn't proven nearly enough to have him competing with the monster that was RJJ at 160. Let's focus on Jacobs first.
I am absolutely convinced that Roy was on PEDS his entire career. GGG on the other hand is tested by VADA all year round.
just an opinion though isnt it? so why are you absolutely convinced by an opinion? thats woolly thinking.
That's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But why would that have meant that GG would have taken him out?
If I had to bet, I would bet on Roy (from 94-99) over anyone in history from 160-190 except MAYBE cruiser weight holyfield over 15 rounds. Roy showed ZERO signs of a bad chin until it was cracked by tarver and shattered by Johnson when he came back too soon. Roy had been declining for atleast 5 years by then.
Because Roy was a big boy. A very big boy even, at 160 lbs. I believe that peds allowed him to perform at a superior level given how weakened he must have been by the weight cut. Take that away, and GGG has the advantage as 160 is his natural weight.
It's a very strange way to look at things. Far too many 'if's' He had many fights at MW when he turned pro, and the odd one at JMW. Why don't you just assume both fighters were at their best, and put forward a logical opinion based on their attributes?
Because I don't know what Roy's best would have been under random Vada testing all year round, like GGG is subjected to.
Roys superior skill and talent was on display in the 88 Olympics when he won Gold. Do you believe he was on the gear then too?
