David Price is a mess of a fighter

He has no punch resistance, awful stamina, no footwork and doesn't know how to throw a jab. It looks like he trains in hope that the fight doesn't go past three rounds. It's just that he's too worried to throw the right hand to stop his opponent before he runs out of gas. Then when he's dead tired he throws a couple of windmill shots in desperation and goes into fetus position against the ropes just waiting to be knocked out.

I just can't see him ever coming back with a good win even against fringe contenders. He's got too many problems to deal with. All you got to do against Price is to stay out of his punching range for the first three rounds and wait for him to gas.

He took some punches better this fight.

He didn't lose because of his chin really. He lost because of his stamina.

And his stamina isn't some intrinsic flaw. He didn't used to be this bad.

I agree, he's awful right now. He seems to do everything wrong, but he might not be completely hopeless. Although he's already 33, it's a bit late.

He definitely seems to have a confidence problem. The whole fight his trainer was trying to reassure and settle him, and Price didn't seem to buy into it.

Poor stamina, coming in heavy, little punch resistance and no confidence isn't a recipe for a winner.

The stamina and punch resistance aren't what surprised me on Saturday, but that pathetic jab dear lord. It's like no one has ever told him it should be a damaging punch. Not just a feint for a right hand.

We saw Fury destroy Chisora only using a jab, same with Wilder against Arreola. Price looks like he is play-fighting with a small child the way he feebly throws it out.

I find the lack of fight essentials like stamina perplexing given Price is a professional. It doesnt make sense. Was it the trainers in his camps fault? Was Hammers bodyshot effective every time? He looked fine at the start so its hard to make a case for being ill. He then looked like he swam the english channel in a outfit made of jeans when the reff waved a TKO in round 7! Was it really something as simple as it looked, a lack of intense cardio training?

I guess to fix the chin issue they made him gain some mass which in return made him gas even worse. Deafeated by the meat man. :roto2lol:

Yup. I forgot about the confidence issue.

And for a guy who is so large the jab should be a key weapon.

To me it looks like his stamina is even worse now that he gained some more mass. He looked much leaner before and even went ten rounds against Zavorotnyi. But then came the defeat in the hands of Teper and his team decided to turn to the Meat Man for help. :roto2lol:

You know 9 million people already made threads saying the exact same thing. So why make another one?

his worst flaw? he doesn't clinch when hurt. just lets the other guy tee off until he goes down or the ref stops it.

George Foreman won the world heavyweight crown at age 45, this sack of crap can't even make it past R7 at age 33. Foreman would KO Price tomorrow.

He literally gave up v Thompson early in the fight. Practically walked away saying he'd had enough like a kid on the school yard does when a bigger kid beats the **** out of him. But Price is supposed to be a professional boxer.

After he gave up so early v Thompson he probably should have retired. He looked so helpless that night and we know now he's not going to rectify his stamina, heart or confidence. The blueprint to beat him is simple, get past 3 or 4 rounds then put heat on him. Then he'll practically allow you to punch him in the face. Very dangerous for Priceys health. I can't see a future in the sport for him now, nor did I before this fight after the Thompson debacle.

no idea what he was thinking coming in at 270 pounds. its a shame because I like the guy and he seems like a nice guy but he seems to just have no gas tank .

Come in lighter and he can't hold a shot. Come in heavy and he has no stamina. But I reckon if he can bulk up to 320llbs he'll be able to fit a boiler all by himself...
