I didn't think there was anything left of this dead horse to continue beating, yet here we are.

So Ward's teams sends an offer that greatly benefits them more (50-50 and at his weight? Really Ward?), and it's declined and they are surprised?

I've asked a few 3G haters when the Ward fight was most realistic to make. Never got a straight answer.

Fact of the matter is, most of the talks between Ward and 3G was ego driven posturing. After the Rodriguez fight he was essentially tied up in court and also injured. When he returns, he's signed a three fight deal w/ HBO culminating with a Kovalev bout.

Ward himself said 168 was difficult to make. And we have forum morons who claimed Ward fought Smith at 172 JUST IN CASE he wanted to move down again and face 3G. Even with Ward's own words, these idiots claim Ward MIGHT move down to 168 to face 3G, despite his three fight deal ending w/ Kovalev being set as well.

That was the offer but as with any negotiation, every aspect is on board.
The bottom line is, Ward has fought everyone that is anyone at SMW. He ducks no one, especially a nobody like Golovkin.
If K2 REALLY wanted the bout, it was theirs for the making.
They didn't want it, so the fight didn't happen and Golovkin still has no A-level opponents on his embarrassing resume, not even a 51 yo Bernard Hopkins, who he also ducked.
Thank God for Sergie Kovalev, who is the complete opposite of the Golovkin b-level mentality.

    You have a point.

The GGG camp offer of everything down the middle was a bit too simple for Andre "Legal Beagle" Ward.

GGG's team also claimed they offered a 60-40 split at 168 lb.

Like Rock0052 said, this is a dead horse. We know the teams could not come to agreement on money/weight.

    - GGG wanted to stay close to 160 for Canelo and therefore wanted to be well renumerated for a move up.
    - Ward wanted a good share of the money too, he managed to get 70% against Kovalev for what it's worth.

Yeah, if K2 wanted to just say f*ck it, and give in to all of Ward's demands, yes, it was there. Good point, I can see you put a great deal of thought in to it.

Ward fighting triple G is just as non-consequential as triple G fighting Floyd....these guys just don't operate within the same weight classes and its not as if its 1956 when fighters took on guys 2 and 3 weight classes above or below their natural weights just to prove who's alpha.

true. While I would have liked Floyd versus 3G, timing is a big part of boxing.
