Let's say Norton of broken jaw vs Cooper from the Moorer ft? While bert certainly isn't on any goat list he did have his moments, knocking down holy, moorer fight, a great battle with mercer. So how s he doing with Norton? Ken has a bit of a rep for failing against the big puncher s. While bert certainly not hardest punching guy out there could he dig enough to ko Ken?

Norton's jab would probably win it for him over Bert Cooper.....6-4 in rounds.

Well Bert Cooper had the power to hurt Holyfiled in his prime when Tyson and Lewis couldn't do the same to the washed up version of Evander. Cooper could bang, his man problem was he was lazy and the drugs. Norton still would probably beat him though if he was at his best.

The safe money would be with Norton.

Think this could be a a dangerous one for Ken if a fit determined Cooper turns up. Favourite s got to be Norton but can also see a upset, would never say never with ken's chin against a banger..

I still think Mercer ruined Cooper. I only saw flashes of the old Cooper after that fight, which was one of the most brutal slugfests I ever saw. Mercer himself looked like an extra from a horror movie after that one but somehow he rebounded and Bert didn't.

Remember the mercer fight well, what a battle.. One of those fights that made the 90s a great era. Moorer v Cooper, Alex stewart, bowe v holy field, foreman comeback , morrison v ruddock.

Bert Cooper went on the following year to defeat prospects Loren Ross and Joe Hipp, and knocked down the world's champion Evander Holyfield.

Good points. I always felt that Bert had more potential than he showed though.

Bert Cooper was pretty hard hitter. McCall named him the hardest hitter of all he has fought or sparred vs.
He was lazy in training and also liked drugs and alcohol, that's why he was well past prime at the young age of 28.

He had problems vs tall boxers (Foreman, Carl Williams, Bowe), he just hadn't the right style vs them.

I'd pick Norton here, I don't think that Cooper lands early, and later in the fight he'll get frustated and stopped at the end of the fight.

And what about other Tyson's and Bert Cooper's common opponents ? Bert Cooper wasn't so big puncher basically
    he was a cruiserweight.

Nortons crab like style might be hard for Bert to penetrate, usually once you broke or frustrated Cooper he started to lose confidence and you could force him into not wanting to fight anymore.. Even at his best (a motivated) Cooper who is a personal favorite of mine isn't beating Kenny I don't believe. I'll take Norton to stop him in the mid to late rounds.

I think so too. Might be a good fight and a potentially dangerous one for Ken though.

Cute story. Then you are saying cruiserweight hit harder than Tyson then. Because he stilled hurt Holyfield and Tyson could not. Also little kid, you probably didn't know this but Tyson was a much better fighter than Cooper. That is why Tyson was more effective with his punches more often than Cooper was. Also as I said Cooper was a lazy junky which really destroyed his career.
