I like the way he's talking his basically saying the best thing for boxing is to put these types of fights on showtime so both fighters can receive the maximum amount of exposure. He also took a shot at Hearn's model saying if you wanna put guys like molina on PPV after he had on tv against Wilder go for it if people are willing to buy it. He's spot on that AJ fight was not a PPV, Molina didn't even turn up and I think eventually Hearn's model will topple if someone like Haymon comes in and starts putting boxing on free tv consistently. Does anyone agree with Dibella
As long as people are willing to pay PPV is alive in UK. Hearn is a better promoter than DiBella, Wilder's had twice as many fights yet almost unknown in US.
Different place the uk is much smaller and has a smaller talent pool so when some like AJ comes along he sells out. Hearn is a good salesman though but he has a huge machine behind in Skysports. If Wilder was in the Uk he would have a very big fan base because he talks trash and knocks people out although he's resume is quite poor.
I remember the Brook vs Gavin ppv what a joke of a ppv main event. Brook was pounding this guy from pillar to post.
The US finally wised up about PPV after the Pac vs Floyd farce. The UK isn't there yet. Also, I have the idea that Wilder is practically unknown in the US, while Joshua is a star in the UK.
The difference is ppvs in the uk are around 20% of the price they are in america, that makes a big differencr
You do have a point on pricing difference but... I don't know exact what the prices are in the UK, but I beieve it's definitely more as the 20% you just mentioned. Even taking the most expensive PPV in the US, which was a ridiculous $100 for May vs Pac, it must only be 16 pounds or thereabout. Usually it's about $70 nowadays, which I agree is a whole lot of money, there still is the difference between the magnitude of the fights. We've seen moderate British level bouts like Clev vs Bellew and Joshua vs whoever that were on PPV in the UK. That's unheard of.
