I'm so pleased Kell is going to stay at 147, lets face it if he did vacate & not fight Spence then it would have looked very bad. Spence is a dangerous fight but I'm not convinced he's the second coming like so many others seem to think. If he gets past Spence then he has so many options for big fights, Thurman V Garcia winner, Pacquiao or even Khan if he stops ducking. Those are all sexy names, what sexy names are at 154? Cotto who doesn't sound like he wants the fight anyway, Canelo is going to 160.

    Great post!
Spence looks too easy to hit. Jab is very predictable. Moves back in straight lines.
He's good at finishing static opponents. I'm really not convinced

I wouldn't describe Algieri as a static opponent, for all his weaknesses he has excellent footwork but Spence destroyed him.

Lmao i suggest you rewatch chris algieri. Yes against manny he moved alot yes against provodnikov he moved alot. This does not mean he has good footwork, his footwork is the worst thing about him, it is all over the place, it is the reason he was down againsy manny 6 times. He also changed his style against khan and spence and ditched the idiotiv movement. Spence did a good job stopping him though..

I've always felt that Algieri has survived fights because of his movement but I'll rewatch the Khan fight and try and see it from your perspective mate.

I think this is a hard fight to call as there are so many variables at play. Spence does seem to be a good fighter, but i don't remember him taking a clean shot (perhaps he is that good). Bundu and Algeri are both light punching distance fighters and Spence walked through them, and now we have Brook who has a very awkward style, carries a good punch and can absorb a good shot. It's an intriguing fight and should Brook win, Khan will return to negotiating table and either lower his percentage or claim Brook needs to fight King Kong, Godzilla or some other mythical beast to secure the fight.

Much respect to Brook, I mean Jo Jo Dan and Gavin were mandatories and he took them.. He not changing his stance good to see.. Spence is most dangerous non big name fighter at 147 so Brook not making alot too..

    It's a 50/50 fight..

Khan was never gonna fight Garcia or Thurman as mandatory for 25% split. He has no interest in that fight as a mandatory contender.

Yeah like i said yes he moves alot but to me that doesnt mean he has good footwork, his feet cross over alot which is not good. Against khan though he ditched this and against spence he ditched this. I think because he did ok against khan with a different style he continued into the spence fight with little movement. He stood straight in front of spence and made it easy

There's a video on YouTube with Algeri saying that he had a knee injury going into that fight so he had to stand in front of him. He also said that Provodnikov punched harder than Spence and that he's going back down to 140 because he's not a natural 147.

I've read loads of opinions on all social media about this fight and the biggest tell is that pretty much all of the short and superficial arguments are for Spence and virtually all the longer and more detailed arguments are for Brook.

Spence has flat feet, is not particularly difficult to hit and as a South Paw he will eat lead right hands. He moves back in straight lines, has slower hands and judging by the knock-down to that journey man he fought, looks to have a questionable chin and lacks variety in his punch selection when under pressure.

Kell Brook will make 147 comfortably with the help of his nutritionalist and as soon as he starts landing lead rights on Spence with ease, then Spence will get overwhelmed and fold.
