Will Errol Spence Jr. be Kell Brook's Jeff Lacy???

ggg/brook was a farce from its inception to the final bell

 

Provably but brook has good hands. So spence will be brutally ko'd

 

The only similarities between Calzaghe vs Lacy, and Brook vs Spence will be the final result.

Spence will have two options once Brook starts showing him angles and hitting him with counters he doesn't see coming.

Go into his shell and lose on the cards.

Get reckless and aggressive, and walked onto something heavy.

Beating up Light Welters and old men isn't a great barometer for measuring somebodies chances against the likes of Brook.

 

There'd be no shame in losing to Brook.

 

So will Brook be shamed if/when he loses to Spence?

Oh for sure and that's why I thought it was a great stoppage,don't ask me what fight Mayweather was watching as he believed Brook was winning and should not of been pulled out,clearly the eye injury was bad as Brook wasn't faking it when he was rubbing his eye to try and see.
Out of interest how does the forum think Spence would of stood up to GGGs power that night?
I don't think anyone were surprised at that result but I think Brook surprised a lot inc the commentators in how he went about GGG and how bloody tough he is,I remember in round one he was major hurt and I can't think of many who would of managed to stay on their feet let alone regroup and come out boxing beautifully in the next round.

 

Stupid thread. Lacy had big power, but his technique was severely lacking since he could get away w/o needing to fall back on it.

Spence's skillset and arsenal is 5 times what lacy had.

 

I hope not I really hope neither feels any shame for losing as both are putting it on the line,Spence in travelling to England and leaving himself at the mercy of the judges and Brook on the back of an awful beating from GGG with advice from Hearn to move up in weight,he clearly has some pride and doesn't want under any circumstances to be seen to be avoiding Spence so please everyone we all moan when we don't get the 50/50 fights we all want and call Canelo and GGG divas for still not making a fight,therefore how mental would it be to try and heap shame on either of these two for losing when either guy could of taken easier options.
The winner of this fight will enter the big time I reckon.

 

I can imagine Brook outboxing Spence but Spence definitely seems better than Lacy did prior to the beating he took from Calzaghe so I would be very surprised if Brook could school him that badly.

Both these guys have pretty good power though so either one of them could get brutally beat down and stopped in a one sided fight.

 

One has to be seen to be disappointed with the ref anyway,I think his disappointment was as much the freak eye injury because I reckon he believed 100% that without that he could of boxed on,one thing for sure Brooks toughness isn't in question,I think Golovkin and esp Sanchez were surprised he survived that first round let alone win the second,GGGs corner never looked so panicked lol.
Still size does matter and the violence of GGG is never in question I think his opponents get freaked at how much he enjoys the violence which gives him a round or two start.

 

The problem for Spence is that on the one occasion he got tagged ( by a novice with a 35% KO ratio ) , his senses were scrambled.

Brook on the other hand has proven whiskers.

But you are correct to suggest that Brook will outbox Spence. Spence has a weak range finding jab, no lateral movement, no head movement, and on the one occasion he was in trouble he was lost.

I think Spence is tailor made for Brook, and Brook will have no trouble finding that chin.

 

Brooks a smart cookie as well which is often overlooked,went into Porters backyard and just looked the better quality boxer,CST80 copped some stick off folk for saying Brook is a slick boxer but I totally get it but then again I'd get laughed at for saying GGGs slick lol.

 

I don't want to hear the crowd, i want to hear the punches landing loudly. With that noisy winter wonderland singing ; I cant hear punches landing . Bores me when I cant hear punches land . Instead i get horrible singing by a bunch of drunks.

 

Don't write Spence off. To the eye, he looks like the best guy in the division, just waiting to prove himself.

I am rooting for Brook but this is a 50/50 fight.
