Because he is better than anyone GGG has faced so far.
The money alone would warrant a rematch.

You are just very very unreasonable. not sure if its possible to have an IQ above 50, be a boxing fan for atleast 10 years like your join date suggests and still ask questions like that.
Throughout boxing history much more proven fighters than GGG have been upset by much less proven and less known fighters than canelo.

Canelo is GBP's only cash cow, they won't throw him in with GGG if he'll get blown out,but sure youre smarter than them and their matchmaking experts lmao

Lots of great point. I do hope the fight get signed sooner rather than later. A win over canelo will do wonder to GGG career. A lot of arguments for GGG from this board derived from pride aspect. IMO when dealing in business term, you have to check your pride at home. Though I prefer an offer in percentage, but if the term presented is not, hopefully GGG doesn't let it slide.

... that's why they wouldn't let him fight GGG last year.

BTW, I agree with you re the rematch, even if GGG smashes Canelo they'll match him soft for a while and then hope Canelo can beat a very old GGG.

That's about the sum of it,I think everyone on here got a shock at those leaked accounts from GB as well, totally showed how reliant they are on Canelo.

El Pollo had his chance when the WBC ordered him to fight his mandatory Golovkin for the 160 lb. title, but El Pollo and Oscar ran like hell, gave up the 160 lb. title, said he could not fight at such a high weight, so now he will fight Chavez at 164.5 lbs., damn, he lies like Donald Trump!

Son, I've been following the sport for some 52 years.

There were Ali-Frazier and Ali-Norton trilogies.
    There was a Ward-Gatti trilogy.

    There was no Tyson-Spinks trilogy.
    And no Holmes-Cobb trilogy

At this point, having watched both of these dudes for their entire careers, it is my judgment that GGG - Canelo, if it happens, will be a one-sided affair.

If that happens, what need would there be for a rematch ?

Of course, this is dependent on Canelo growing a set before GGG's eyesight starts to fail.
