Not only were Lewis, Bowe and Wlad better punchers, they were faster, longer, stronger and less prone to cutting. All three had vastly superior range in terms of footwork and reach. All three had exceptionally developed, powerful jabs.

When was the last super-truncated, slow of foot and hand, power puncher to make a dent in the division? The closest one can come in recent times is Chagaev, a fighter Wlad utterly destroyed in every manner and fashion.

Could Marciano pull a one-off on one of these guys? Sure. Would any bookie favor him win? Not on your life.

Look here. The mantra stateside is that the heavyweight division has lost it's superathletes to the NFL and NBA. What better time for a less athletic Marciano type to take hold, a guy who wouldn't have the distractions or enticement of other sports. And where is this guy?

Do you see why I call Marciano fans idiots and racist? Because 100 percent of them are.

When did Marciano beat any modern size heavyweight? Never. He couldn't even beat 177 pound Ted Lowry.

Then you see the people who say well Marciano could just add 30 pounds. If he could do that he would of and if it was that simple every 175 pound guy would do it.

The only people Marciano might could beat out of the people named are maybe Patterson and Ingo. Everybody else named would stop him. Most of them in less than 3 rounds.

The Marciano fans are all too quick to tell us how hard he hit, what they fail to factor in is how hard he would be getting hit back.

Lol he weighed 193. That still isn't a modern sized heavyweight.

These are the people Marciano fought who weighed over 200 pounds.
    Artie Donato 7-10
Don Cockell who spent most of this career 180 or less.
Lee Savold who spent most of his career under 200
Keene Simmons who was 8-8 and weighed 200
    Big Bill Wilson
    Johnny Shkor
    Eldridge Eatman 22-20
    James Patrick Connolly 8-5
    Humphrey Jackson who was 4-2
    Bill Hardeman 1-4
Washed Up Joe Louis was under 200 in his prime.

And tons of guys who weighed 170 to 180.

Yep so because he beat those bum fighters clearly that means he could just gain 40 pounds of muscle and beat Foreman, Bowe, Lewis, Wlad and Vitali Klistchko, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson. You made a brilliant point.

They also fail to realize that Bob Foster punched hard at Marciano size but his power wasn't anything when he fought heavyweights. Marciano fans aren't bright enough to figure that out.

Great punchers, but Rocky was better.
These guys would have fits with a guy who can trade with them, but who could also maneuver around more dynamically.
If Rocky closes the distance and stuns them, they are extremely vulnerable. They're not going to dance like Ali on the outside for 12 rounds. Rocky has the advantage in dodging the bombs weathering the danger.

What 5'7 fighter has hit like Langford since?
Which 160lb boxer in the past had testimonials of hitting harder than the hard hitting HWs of the day?

Our sample size is about 120 years, which is not that much all things considered.
There are plenty of one of a kinds.
Rocky was one of a kind.

Lol Marciano was a better puncher at heavyweight because of what? His skin color? He didn't knock out any heavyweights you dumb dumb. So why would you assume he could? Just because of his skin color right?

Langford weighed 180 pounds most of this career and how do you know he punched as hard as modern heavyweights? Last time I checked Sam was dead and didn't fight any modern fighters period.

Too bad Ted Lowry a 177 pound fighter with a career record of 70-68 didn't have fits when he was beating the crap out of Marciano and almost knocking him out.

I'm glad you underlined that it is the actual fighters as they existed. Marciano fans have a perverse habit of creating hypothetical chimeras when matching their hero head to head.
    • I recommend any Marciano matchups have this proviso emphasised. lol,

They have both weighed in at 190 pounds.

If we are gonna let Holyfield add weight we need to let Rocky do the same.
