I like alot of the guys people hate on here, like Watts and the HBO crew. I can't stand BJ Flores and Teddy Atlas. BJ can't score a fight to save his life, and his commentary has made alot of posters think several fights were robberies that weren't. Atlas can score a fight, but is just a blow hard ******* who otherwise can't evaluate boxers or offer a credible opinion.
I guess it's all perspective. McGuigan does know something about boxing and I like his analysis and breakdowns. Wish I could trade 1 Lederman + 1 Bernstein for McGuigan. I'll take the partial bias against the extreme bias happily.
Actually, I meant to say I'd trade 1 Lederman + 1 Farhood for McGuigan. Stewart was a good Kronk trainer, but in all ways he was very much an opportunist and political turn-coat who pivoted in any direction of the majority opinion. His opinions on boxing was always influenced by the Kronk philosophy, but he did very much respect the pure boxers like Mayweather, Ward and Hopkins.
Watt, he's such a homer for his beloved fighters, they can do absolutely no wrong in that mans' eyes.
Teddy Atlas's perpetual blaring voice obstructs my brain from actually paying attention to the fight. He literally doesn't stop talking. Instant mute.
can't believe this is the only post that mentions Nick Halling, the man was a car crash. how did Sky think it was a good idea to get an american football commentator to do the boxing
Roy and BHop both give good color commentary and yeah, Paulie does as well. But when not commenting directly on the fight, BHOP and Roy are like professors in comparison. Paulie simply has some hurt feelings somewhere.
Gotta say Jim Lampley... As much as I like him & his voice is pretty much what most think of when you think of modern day boxing...That one "Bang, Bang, Bang" bullshizz line during the Manny (PED) years was embarrassing & pandering on a whole other level. So yeah... F Lamps
