That's madness hahaha you actually have Izu Ugonoh in your top 10 even after that performance I don't know what to say to you. In regards to Breazeale hats off to him for pulling off the upset, I did say he was very tough which was why this fight was closer than it should be.
When Parker stepped up competition he did not have the same effect .Izu is faster and has better technique in throwing power shots, than Parker does..its not about J. long its about current abilities and clearly Izu has better punching and offense than Parker.Maybe not chin? Breazeale didnt go in on Kassi, he coasted that fight. If we were nit picking guys on opposition well...Breazeale is hard to hurt any which way you want to beleive and that tells me alot compared to Parker who you cant say has lived up to the guys hes fought so far.Haye went the distance with Valuev im SURE Haye can still punch tough right? And i could use Breazeale bc unlike most i know hes a difficult fighter so if you want to brush him off as a bum ,go ahead b/c Parker and Izu are about equal level fighters so you would destroy your entire argument here. i also had Breazeale ranked over Izu so this isnt a shock at all,it was expected.
its not madness its how you do things logically if two top fighters lose against eachother...if you think Izu cant beat most guys based on Breazeales ability to take a punch well....thats the differance between us which is better perception of one stands in the rankings.
Izu has a poor chin which is why he lost, technique-wise he was a level above Breazeale. Actually if it wasn't for chin problems Breazeale would've got knocked out eventually, Izu definitely had the power to hurt Breazeale but not as badly as Breazeale hurt him lol. Parker beats Breazeale, he's a better boxer than Breazeale and has a far better chin than Ugonoh. The only thing that Izu has over Parker imo is that he seems perhaps a bit more accurate with his punches. But speed, chin (Parker has never been down despite not having that great defence), composure, will to win, are all massive Parker pluses, and JP is a bit more powerful too, and that's why he's a beltholder while Izu is in a hole. Barry knew what he was doing when he pushed Parker faster than Izu despite being a lot younger ... now we see why.
I hope Izu doesn't fade away into obscurity. This is a valuable learning lesson for him, and if Al Hamon really backs him, he'll get more chances to impress on undercards. People need to remember this is not just a sport for us to enjoy watching, it's a profession for the boxers. Without the guys battling it out for the top 50 places, we wouldn't have much to watch would we? This content is protected Izu- Showed great combinations, with excellent double jabs and body shots. Good movement early on, getting in and out of range against a taller guy. Breazeale- Showed grit to get up from 2 knockdowns, similar to Mansour fight. Big man power punches won the fight in the end. Plenty to work on, but as he had professed in the lead up.... "Someone has to pay" and that was Izu this time around. This will get Breazeale more opportunities and help his ranking in the WBC.
I agree with you but it's not up to Haymon it's up to Izu to get rid of Barry and get a coach which works on his defence and game plan. He also has to ask to be put in with better fighters, when top 100 guys like long and Gregory tony are your best wins your gunna run into trouble when you take on a top 20 guy like Breazeale. That's when people were acting like this will be a blow out I told them it's not gunna be easy even though I thought he would win by majority decision.
Breazeale can punch and wear you out.Parker has not fought anyone like him, obviously Izu less experiance is going to have difficulties if he doesnt win quick which he TRIED to do. Parker wouldnt be able to blitz Breazle that quickly ,so we dont know who is actually the better Hw yet. Im not sold on Ruiz who is undersized /overweight and limited footwork. Breazeale may be slow but hes harder to fight. Breazeale is the more dangerous guy,Ruiz will not go far in the Hw division his physical attributes wont do it here. If Parker makes it further than Izu its bc Barry intentionally lined him up better and has a better chin than Izuand ,Barry even refused Mariusz Wach fight which could have prepared Izu for this one. The guy has hurt his own guys the wrong guys to fight,Ruiz is no world beater despite what ppl think. Breazeale is a 6'7 SHW with more to work with. If parker was at the level he should be he doesnt struggle with easy to reach guys like that ,no matter what anyone says. He should defeat Hughie since there is no power to worry about.
Parker is more rounded than Izu, there will be a reason why Izu was always on Parker undercards - not the other way around. Parker was pushed up to harder tests faster than Izu, again... the team would have decide that for a reason. The guys Parker has struggled to KO are guys EVERYONE has failed to KO. The only guy Parker hasn't KOd that someone else has was Takam who was only KOd by someone on PEDs, and Parker had him wobbly. Sure, he isn't Joshua power levels - but he is far from feather fisted at the elite. Izu IS good and has more to come, but I can't help but feel that he has been given MORE attention and credit in the build up to this than Parker generally gets because of being photogenic. It shows how much of the boxing public is about the entertainment side of it, aesthetics and build up.
No hes really not,hes less speed ,less accurate, less footwork, less defense,. less power ....Parker has better ring IQ and chin . The ring IQ comes with experiance which Izu can develope bc hes a former kick boxer hes not new to combat. Any guy that Parker fought would be in big trouble against Izu if he hit them with the same punches he hit Breazeale with. i cant even comment on stamina because Parker seems to breath very hard early in all his fights.Izu hasnt gone many rounds and has less fights. If they both fought it would be a 50/50 fight ,you cant actually place Parker that much over Izu based on wins to Takam and Ruiz. Izu is better than they are skill wise and poses more threat because of his aggression and solid fundamantals. Both lack some defense but Parkers head is way bigger target .Izus footwork alone and body punching make him VERY effective. Yes there is a big reason Izu was on parkers undercards ...because he WAS ON TEAM PARKER and his main sparring partner. lol
Those are your opinions, you can't state them as facts. I agree in part with SOME of it, which is why I said Parker is better rounded as opposed to better all around... at least right now. And there lies the issue, Takam/RuizJr are not Breazeale. Izu showed quite a dicey chin, there could be argument that he may have been rocked earlier than was if he was against one of those two - and QUITE a strong argument that he may not have had the joy in the first rounds if he had been fighting someone at that level. I'm certainly not saying that it'd be a white wash there either, there are all kinds of different dynamics which you can't necessarily predict when two guys face... but I rate Takam and Ruiz above Breazeale and Parker has wins against those guys, Izu has an L against Breazeale. For now. Parker was also on Team Izu for this fight. Izu was a Duco fighter, not hired just as Parker's punching bag. If Izu was clearly a level above, we would have seen things advanced like that. Duco are a business - they're going to put their best foot forward.
Less speed? No, Izu is fast but Parker's handspeed is faster. Watch some tape if you don't believe me. Less accurate? Agreed, Parker needs to work on his accuracy. Less footwork? Perhaps so. Less defense? Not really, the cautious Parker of the Ruiz Jr fight is more defensively responsible than Izu was, although obviously that came at the price of Parker not attacking Ruiz Jr. In other fights I'd say defense is about equal. Less power? I don't see a case for this, the guys Izu failed to stop (Rusiewicz and Long) are not as good as Takam or Ruiz. Ring IQ? Yes that goes to Parker, but that is a problem for Izu as Parker is younger and didn't have the kickboxing experience either. Chin? Agreed, that goes to Parker. Stamina? Have to say Parker at this stage, Parker's had stamina issues but Izu gassed really early against Breazeale. Sure. But Izu would have gone down if he had been hit by some of the stuff Takam or Bergman landed on Parker. No, it's not a 50/50 fight because if they go to war Izu's chin lets him down.
