I was watching an interview with Dave Allen on Saturday and how Eddie Hearn has planned Operation White Rhino to lead Dave to the British title. Allen though had bigger dreams and has set his sights on a world title. I immediately thought, oh Dave, you silly bugger.

Later that night I thought it perhaps wasn't as far fetched. I watched Dave destroy the revered 'Luckas the plummer' in a mere 8 seconds. Later that night I watched WBC kingpin Wilder get a boxing lesson off a similar level opponent before a windmill landed on the boys glass jaw.

Here is the problem Wilder would face with Dave Allen. Allen has fought through superior opposition of the two and proved his sturdy jaw. He went the distance with Whyte and almost the distance with Luis Ortiz. The odd windmill landing won't be enough.

While mutual opponent Jason Gavern, who Allen stepped up to in his 5th fight, and Wilder in his 53rd was dismissed by both men in the 4th, it would suggest this is a pick em fight. However styles make fights and I see Allen winning a rather one sided decision. In the 119-109, 118-110 region.

White Rhino would be a step up in class for Wilder, not sure he could handle it.

White Rhino Dave may take his eye off the ball though. Going from Whyte, King Kong and Lukas The Plumber down to Wilder for a man who lacks motivation at times screams 'potential banana skin' to me.
