We saw about 90%. Another 2 years he would have really been sharp with the up and coming Bowe/ Holyfield /Lewis/Foreman ....etc.....had he stayed with Rooney he would have went in all likleyhood undefeated and cleaned house. It wasn't so much skill he needed he was damn near perfect ,but he would have improved on his his ring generalship as that comes with experience. He gets a lot of slack for that but he didn't even make it out of the 80's without losing a step as soon as he fought without Rooney.
ridiculous tyson hating on here by the revisionist "he was a bully" morons....by 1991 tyson was a 0.5 fighter who hadnt trained in years...but he was still hungry ...he took on a peak Ruddock twice in 3 months ffs!!!!!! the dangerman no one (holyfield, bowe or mercer or foreman) wanted to face at that time...this at the same time....lewis was fighting a 80 year old mike weaver...bowe was losing to tubbs...mercer to old man holmes and holyfield was shitting buckets with cooper.....tyson 1991 had incredible will to win, chin and powrr and he could fight 20 rounds...that version still had enough to beat 1990-1993 holy, bowe and lewis and he would have been too fast for foreman
I dont have to watch it i actually saw it live let alone 100 times, you watched it on a you tube screen ,VHs probably was before your time, which you had to have your eyes closed apparently while in the process of watching it if you think Tyson barely escaped certain death by the sounds of it. conversations that go back and forth like this shows who is a half wit.....that would be you!
Im seeing something live right here ,a poster in you advertising what a complete moron he is. You must like that because you do that quite often on here!
Really thats funny because you are the only fool claiming Tyson went LIFE and DEATH with Ruddock on here......even though it was a lopsided fight with Tyson in NO danger of losing while walking through Ruddocks shots and battering him. Its one of the worst beat downs ever ...get off the drugs...
You really haven't seen the fight have you hahahaha. Get your nerdy ass off BoxRec and watch the fights before spouting off your usual bull****....
i saw the fight. several times. if tyson went life and death with ruddock then holyfield went life and death with tyson. infact if ruddock wasnt known as a puncher you wouldnt be saying tyson went life and death with him because he was never wobbled or staggered although he was buzzed but not hurt to the point where a decent pokerface didnt cover up completely. Tysons legs were steady throughout, at no point was he at risk of losing the fight. only ruddocks reputation of being a massive puncher created the perception.
In regards to the question in the OP, you saw all the potential because tyson's interest in the sport and in becoming a better fighter went away after he had 1. won the titles which he felt he owed to Cus 2. made a lot of money from that point on it was about making more money, he did not have to improve to make money. It's called extrinsic motivation and it will keep you from reaching your potential.
