wow serious lack of buzz about this fight. I dont get it. 147 unification between two unbeaten legit champs.
Im excited about this one. I think Thurmans weight of punches just breaks Garcia down as the rounds go on. Ref steps in in one of the later rounds, 9 or 10 after another barrage of punches landed on a very brave but beaten up Garcia. However i wouldnt put money on that and Garcia will step in and win any rounds Thurman slacks off, switches off.
Sad really. 10 years ago a fight like this would have ESB on fire. For the record, Thurman UD in a very cautious performance
Maybe there's so many other big fights around this one that has dampened the hype? We do have Bellew Haye, GGG Jacobs, AJ Klitchko, Canelo Chavez all lined up as well. Or maybe its just one of those fights, so close and even on paper that there isnt much to say
Thurman is going to severely outbox Danny, I anticipate a couple of rough moments for Thurman as he gets countered, but overall it'll be a fairly lopsided affair, Disclaimer: I guarantee the scorecards will be closer than they should be.
I guess if Thurman had fought Brook somewhere along the line it would bring GGG into the conversation, then we would have 30 threads a day on this subject
I picked Danny. Thurman has the physical gifts to win this fight, but he fights everyone the same. I just don't think he's smart enough to actually come up with an effective game plan.
I don't agree at all. If there's a main quality Keith is in possession of, well, that's his flexibility and adaptability to opponents' principal strenghts: for example, against Bundu -who excels at inside fighting-, despite the boos of the crowd, he boxed wisely from the backfoot, without taking unnecessary risks; you can see him being more aggressive, instead, in front of less awkard rivals such as Collazo and Guerrero.
Garcia has scraped by a few opponents recently, I think Thurman finally gives him his first official L.
Thurman will fight very cautiously and rack up the points, forcing Danny out of his comfort zone and into a pressure fighter, which he won't be comfortable with, it'll look like the first half of the Peterson match, only a 12 round or Thruman win by TKO induced shorter version.
