It is a massive money fight for Hughie, what are you on about? What has he done on his record to get a $1.1 million + payday? Just 3 fights ago he beats a guy who had lost 17 out of his last 18 fights! (The one he won was only due to the other guy being DQ'd!!!), four fights ago Parker was fighting Takam! He is getting more than Wilder got last fight and FYI it is around 2.5 - 3 x more than he was offered to fight AJ....seriously you thinking the $1.1+ million Hughie is getting for this fight isn't big money is beyond comprehension. It is.

Hughie is getting more money than he would have against Wilder or even AJ. That's the biggest reason he's taking the fight, besides it seems to me that he thinks he can pull the upset. His cousin was longer odds against Wlad ...

It wasn't long ago that Tyson Fury challenging Wladimir Klitschko was considered a ridiculous step up and a crazy idea. Tyson's best wins were against Dereck Chisora and Steve Cunningham, he'd never faced any decent giant super-heavy type, he'd been decked by 'feather-fisted' cruiser Cunningham and at least one other mediocre fighter, he'd ducked Ustinov and Price blatantly. Wlad was going to KO him with the first jab ..... etc. etc.

Yeah. That's basically the only reason I give Hughie a chance. Because he's a "Fury," it's hard to dismiss him.

But I do believe it was actually different when Tyson faced Wlad. I don't believe Tyson was getting criticized because he was stepping up too much exactly. It was more than Wlad was really, really good and Fury maybe wasn't good enough.

Tyson Fury did face elite, high level competition before facing Wlad. He did actually enter the elite level slowly and gradually.

Andy Ruiz had fought nobody of note before he faced Parker, if anything he had a worse resume than Fury

I don't really see anyone saying he is some sort of unstoppable world beater. If you are saying that picking Parker as a favourite against a solid but untested contender as a world beater is saying that he is unstoppable, then I think you need to take a moment of looking in the mirror and thinking about what your motives are instead of throwing shots at others.

And who IS saying he's going to get destroyed?

I'd suggest those with a "keener eye for boxing" may look at a lot of boxing but may not understand what they are looking at if they think Andy Ruiz is a stay busy opponent for anyone, or at least someone who has already worked fairly hard to win against significantly lesser opponents.

What I am seeing here is a lot of spite that Parker is getting respect.

Lets break this down for you...

    - Parker has wins at the top level, they haven't been hugely destructive wins - very very close in fact, but undisputed by anyone who actually matters. To quote Fast and the Furious, "A win's a win, whether by an inch or a mile".

    - Parker has not lost a round against anyone outside of any realistic top 30 list

    - Hughie Fury has. Multiple.

I'm not saying that Parker is levels above, by any stretch. This is a big fight for both. I'm just saying that it looks a lot like you are a lot more casual than you think you are by how outraged you seem to be about anyone giving Parker a chance against Fury.

Peter Fury did say a while ago that they gonna try and move Hughie on quicker and have take some risky fights,it's a gamble but if it pays off he'll be in with the big boys.
