You hit the nail on the head. Going to 154 for mayweather makes sense, extremely high reward + may is small at 154. Going to 155 for a guy that enters the ring at 175 is stupid.

Thats cool and all, the problem is, is when opponents who dont accept fights with G get criticized for also wanting to do whats best for their career, brand and money wise. There just seems to be heavy themes of 'fighter a is a coward for not fighting G' while then saying 'well duh G is trying to build a brand' (not saying you, just in general)

Obviously every fighter, especially a popular one, is going to have fans that make his general fanbase look bad... but seems to be a common theme surrounding G is how he makes his peers look bad for not stepping to him earlier. But cant defend G's moves while criticizing others really.... just imo.

You can say and defend him, but GGG and his corner are being hypocrites. Telling fans that he fights for honor, glory and titles and that he's not a business man. Telling people that he would fight and win against anyone from 154 - 168 lb. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

There you go, walk around weight doesn't give you an advantage. Actually it's the opposite, what matters is that they're able to make the weight in.

we agree on that point if you can't make the weight safely it can hurt you, but if cutting weight hurts you you should be fighting at a higher weight

Agreed, DLH vs Pacquiao is an excellent example of what could happen to you. DLH looked like crap and Pacquiao didn't receive the proper credit.

You're absolutely right. There are two possible arguments here I could use to defend Genady : 1) people that ducked him had him as a mandatory (Canelo, Ndam, Sturm), to a lesser extend Geale and to a much lesser extend, Martinez. And 2) people are actually physically afraid of Genady. You can see it in their posture, their eyes, their body language. GGG on the other hand looks amused every time I see hI'm face to face with an opponent.

Why would you take what a fighter says seriously? Of course he fights for the money. I feel like GGG is held to a higher standard, like Floyd used to be and every time he says something proper (I fight for legacy not money) people take it as a gospel. Anyone who thinks he isn't a businessman is naive. He is 35 and at the end of his prime. It's now or never for him, he can't be held accountable for things he said when he was 30 and was just making his bones.

Do you think GGG is the only fighter willing to do this to get a fight with Boxings biggest money maker? Seriously?

Nope, but when your being called the next best thing since Hagler and not taking chances and making statements that he'll fight/defeat anyone from 154 - 168 lbs but the fight will strictly be made at 160 lbs. That doesn't help your case.
