Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman

Thurman hit Porter with some real bombs in his most recent fight and buckled his knees noticeably a few times. Porter showed a good chin standing up to those shots. I'm not sure that Garcia will still be there if he gets hit like that. Thurman KO in the middle rounds is my pick. It's gonna be a great night of boxing either way.

I'm in the minority obviously. For me Garcia is gonna catch up with Keith and get the KO sometime past rd 9.

Garcia is just too one-dimensional, too slow and too flat-footed. The man has no defense and no head movement. He doesn't have the same speed and power he had at 140. The only areas he has the edge in are in chin, timing, experience, and resume. Thurman has him beat everywhere else, including power.

Pac is the ****** wrench in Garcia/Thurman being for WW supremacy.

Lets be real, if Khan beats Pac and/or Spence beats Brook, neither of those guys will have a better case than Garcia/Thurman winner, especially if it's Thurman.

 

Garcia is Garcia, so you never know. I don't see Garcia winning on points. I think he wins if he does by landing a bomb left hook and stopping Thurman. Thurman really should be able to outbox Garcia, so long as he doesn't get hurt too bad (not very good insight, I know, but that's how I feel about this one). My pick is for Thurman to win a competitive, not controversial, UD.

1. So Danny lost two rounds against Khan? Then TKO'd him easy? Cool.
2. Definitely should have lost to Herrera.
3. Theophane match that was way back before the Campbell fight, right? Not too much stock in that one.
4. He did quite badly fade against Judah. He lost all 3 of the final rounds. However, he won the first 9.
5. Danny/Lucas was not a controversial outcome at all. I was like most of us and got that prediction wrong, way wrong, but it really was not controversial at all. I've watched it multiple times and just don't see what other people see when they claim that (unless those same people view most every Hopkins fight as controversial too).
6. Danny/Lamont is a highly debatable one. A "draw" would have been fair for history and both fan bases. There are warning signs to take from that fight and an elite fighter should have handled it better, I'd agree... As for Danny/Ghost, no, that fight could not be legitimately scored a draw. That is the first I've ever heard that notion before and I've heard lots from the anti-Garcia crowd. Maybe my memory is way off on that one, but that fight wasn't close.
