We'll see. I'm excited to find out what Garcia is made of tonight. I don't know if it's a good thing to try to make a man flinch during a stare down and the other man just stares at you smiling.
Losing to Garcia and canelo is hardly horrible. Prescott maybe but that was early in his career, bhop lost early in his career. Or if you think he sparked is a worse way to lose than being outboxed or beat up, don't think that's the case. Wlad, Lewis, Pac, Duran, hearns etc have all been sparked. I think there's just some sort of unwarranted hate for Khan no idea why. The guy is blazing fast, has great heart (look how he got up and fought on vs Garcia), takes tough fights and exciting to watch. He reminds me of Hearns, give him the stylistic disadvantage and he looks indestructible, however he always seems vulnerable.
We know what Danny's all about. We've seem him school a murdeous puncher in Matthysse, and we've also seen him struggle and fight to the level of lesser of opposition, getting outboxed by Herreres. It's Thurman whose defence, poise, ability to adjust, and chin is questionable and Thurman who has more to prove tonight. The speed, power, and talent is there, especially Thurman's foot speed I think gives him a big edge, and I'm picking him. But come on, don't act like Danny Garcia will fold, he's proven his toughness and his rock solid chin. If Thurman wins it's his best win and we have to give him full credit.
Garcia ruined Matthysse? . Closed victories against Guerrero , Peterson (who Matthysse destroyed in 3 rounds ). Victories over Samuel Vargas , Rod Salka, Malignaggi. At least Matthysse fought in wars against Provodnikov and MolinaJr , and lost to Postol who was all wrong for him, we can argue he quit because of his eye, or because his corner didnt have a plan and just rely on a ko , but for me Matthysse ruined Garcia , he never was the same after that fight and now he is going to be proven against Thurman, but i think he will win , he always does when he is not the favourite .
He's been sparked out several times but the Canelo match can be excused. Khan doesn't have the greatness of the guys you mentioned. He is a very good boxer and insanely fast, it's just not enough, he doesn't have "it".
Several times? The hate for khan is real. He's been sparked by canelo a MW, excused. He's been sparked by a crispy Garcia left hook, and tbh so has others such as Morales? Not excused but acceptable. So that only leaves one in Prescott early in his career, and somehow he's been sparked several times? Lol. The guy survived and beat maidana and has a great heart in the ring.
I didn't expect Garcia to win, Thurman too big too strong. But even though Garcia lost clearly to me, I thought he did fine. His timing is immaculate and his defense is very underrated. Plus he has a stout chin. I hope he goes back to 140 he can shine there
