He never got fighting fit again after his retirement and was very rusty and exposed for being out of ring-shape by Bellew tonight. I felt he settled after the 4th and was getting on top of the fight until the injury in the 6th round. He might still have lost tonight without that injury but it did change the fight.

I will always regard Haye as an underachiever and fighter who had more talent than he realized in his career, but he's been his own worst enemy, and especially so since his comeback by facing easy opposition and not easing himself back up into higher quality opponents.

Even with one leg Bellew couldn't hit Haye that often and when he did, it did nothing.
    Bellew is Wilder material

Was it jsut me but did David look slower then usual. I've never seen David miss with those kinds of shots in the early stages of the fight. He really looked bad throughout the fight with just a flash or so of brilliance.

He looked slow against de Mori and Gjergjej as well. People just had their blinkers on as usual.

He looked a lot more top heavy and slower, too much lifting weights me reckon.

Haye fell into the false illusion that bulking up would increase his power. If he came into this fight below 220 . It would have been early night. Lol the niave git fattened himself up over America, indulging with his celeb friends, and the result was he couldn't cut off the ring to get to Bellew tonight.

In fairness I thought Bellew was very focused and used a lot of quick head movement to make Haye miss. Early on Bellew wasn't that easy to hit, so I'm not sure if Haye was slowing down as much as it was just Bellew came prepared and was very defensive minded early on to avoid those punches knowing they were coming. It was really a brilliant strategy by Bellew.

Bellew fought well early but he was behind on the cards until David's right leg went away.
But if you don't think David was slower, look at him vs Wladimir for example he looked like a different fighter there.
