Do you think he went into the ring with an injury? Do you think it affected him from the first round? He did look shockingly bad at the start, swinging like a maniac and looking bad missing. But he did start to come into the fight and was landing on Bellew more and slowing Bellew down. But if Haye didn't get injured would he have won
I dont know. I think he settled by the 4th and was starting to get on top but he wasn't fighting an intelligent fight and Bellew was clearly the better prepared and more focused fighter. Haye might still have lost without the injury, but it would have gone to te final bell.
nope. Bellew was waiting for him to tire. Haye had 1 or 2 rounds max to get the KO before he punched out. Injury is from going beyond what body is capable of.
Of course he would. He was only swinging like a madman in the first round. From the 2nd round on he figured out that he can just jab Bellew to the body and wait for him to either open up or just put the rounds in the bag. Without the injury he'd either land something big or won easily on the scorecards.
I think Bellew was waiting for something to happen, him tiring yes, and I do think Haye was tiring, but Haye stilled looked in good enough shape to get to the final bell if not for the injury. If the injury didn't happen, I say Haye would have probably won, but it wasn't a sure thing. Bellew may have come on and won some rounds on his own, who knows. As arrogant as Haye was in the pre-fight, I'm gutted for him. He really brings a lot of excitement to boxing, but his right leg has really been his achilles heel.
Those threads rofl.....it was pretty obvious that Haye was injured before the fight already and during the fight it just got worse, there were rumours about injury and i think Haye admitted it in one of his pre-fight interviews, can you stop pretending that the injury did not occure pre-fight now please ? Haye even went to Munich to check on the injury,u can find pics of that trip. It was just Martinez-Cotto all over again, before the fight Martinez could barely walk, let alone fight, got worse in the first round. The truth is that Haye was goin to win easily if not for the injury, also his body cant handle it anymore for years and he should of stayed retired, just cant get through training camp without injury,Wlad is the same ...injuries and postpones every damn fight but i guess Haye decided to go through with it and not postpone it and paid for that dearly. He also gained weight and lost his speed and less stamina than ever, should just retire as i said after so many injuries last years.
