Haye went into the fight with achilles injury

nothing really. wlad is far better than haye, hasn't had a multi year layoff. bellew (as sad as he is) is still far more proven than joshua.

 

totally agree,... and not only that, i am sure there are quite a few out there who put big money on Haye to win. I wouldnt be impressed to find out that my boxer came in injured (if this is the case). We dont know to what extent the achilles injury was prior to the fight, all we can assume is that he was given the go ahead as "fit to fight". All i can say is, he didnt fully rupture that achilles, torn a few fibres i reckon. If it was a full rupture he would be struggling to stand, let alone move/stumble around the ring.

 

Who can blame him really tho. He's in the fight game to make as much money as possible. Seems like a good way to do it.

 

Agreed but once you take the fight you can't then offer injuries up as excuse like Pacquiao did.

 

He was complaining about a foot injury after he fought one of the Klitschos and lost. Is that the same foot again?

It's abit different to fight with one leg then to fight with one hand. If you don't have a leg you can't support any power. So I don't even seeing the comparrsion bearing any weight.

 

Haye would of mentioned it if toegate never happened. After the Vlad fight he couldn't bring up another injury excuse.

Not forgetting prior to this fight he kept saying he was better than ever and even when his visit to Germany was mentioned he brushed it off.

I think another thing to ask is what was his camp like? Seemed to be loving that Miami lifestyle and the next question is how much work was done in that camp?

They kept saying Haye would be light and quick yet his weight on the scales was the same as his last fight.

 

That is true but to be fair to Haye he was very gracious in defeat & didn't make any excuses this time & just said Bellow was the better man, I guess he learned from his previous mistakes.

 

The comparison was between both being willing to disregard the right of PPV people to receive what they pay for. In fact, he was about to pull out of the fight and Hopkins, who soon after became his business partner as planned, dissuaded him because of the money involved. He also seemed to be carrying Dela Hoya during the early rounds.

 

But I doubt Haye willingly went into a fight which probably ended his career with a injury. He looked fine in the build up and was moving around well.

 

I think you are right about the inability now to do a solid 8-10 week camp.
