The end of DAVID HAYE or Is there 1 big fight left in him?

If he can't get down to 210 pound on fight night he should retire right now.

His style is a young mans style. He's not a traditional boxer , he depends on speed and explosiveness. He can't perform the way he did at 230+ pounds.

 

He's probably got a couple of big injuries left in him if he chooses to press on. Made of balsa wood.

 

He was 224 vs bellew. Losing weight won't do much.
He's an old fighter with little fundamentals. who relied on speed and explosiveness.
Nothing except a time machine could get a 36 year old tyson or ali or leonard their speed back.

 

He was 225 for the weigh in. He was clearly way bigger on fight night.

 

Is it just me or did anyone else notice during the fight how far back and awkward looking his right foot looked while fighting? (before the injury)

Even my wife said "what wrong with his stance?".

Anyone else think that maybe there was an injury PRE-fight and Haye carried into the fight and it got worse?

Just seemed off from what I have seen from Haye. and I have seen him up close during fight week vs Wlad

 

I think he is running into the same problem our team had training Vitali. It was getting harder and harder to get him through camp 100% healthy. When father time comes calling, not much you can do about it. All the camps, all the fights, all the training catches up with guys and it becomes injury after injury in camp. Thats why Vitali said 'NO MAS"

NO. Not anymore. sometimes he will pop in camp but just to say hello to wlad and the team. 2 of us on Wlads team were on Vitalis team. He might workout a little, but nothing like a comeback or anything. He is done with boxing and very very busy in politics.

 

He's done as a contender in the division. But given the state of the division, that doesn't mean he won't get another title shot.

Sure he can have a few more paydays if he recovers from his injuries and comes back. Fans would pay to watch him fight Chisora again or face Whyte or Joshua.

 

Haye isn't done. He and Bellew can both beat Wilder.

 

Yeah, I thought as much. I think he would beat Wilder though.

I hope Wlad has a great camp. I believe he can do it.

He was done with boxing four years ago. This was just his last and greatest con, nothing more.

 

Haye is done.
But that doesn't mean he can't win a belt anymore, mainly because of the WBA screwups. If Briggs wins against Oquendo, which is not out of the question at all, and then gives David a shot to cash out his strap, all bets are off.
It will be a paper one of course, but that never stopped Haye before.

 

I've only seen the fight once and my memory may be faulty, but I seem to recall him dragging his back foot when moving forward, well before round 6. Fear of fan backlash has likely kept this issue under wraps. Even Manny suffered some backlash when it came out that he went into the fight of the century injured. True or not, people were pissed. PPV is expensive and we all want our moneys worth. That would be 2 healthy fighters, each at their best, facing off in the ring.
