I agree with you 100%. But today's form of influence and brainwashing employed is through this Kardashion era nonsense. You still have to be a salesman when it's all said and done.

 

10 years ago this fight would've been bankrolled by HBO to put on the regular network and done gangbuster ratings.

Damn shame the budget cuts have shifted fights that were perfect for HBO championship boxing to PPV instead. Ultimately, it hurts the sport's ability to develop new stars by limiting viewers' access to these kinds of fights.

Both guys have pretty likable personalities. Jacobs' story of surviving cancer is inspiring, even if it has no real relevance to the fight or the outcome.

I noticed that Jacobs and his trainers have been referring to Golovkin as "the boogeyman" in interviews, but, unlike the boogeyman, Golovkin is very real. The first punches landed on Jacobs will be a hard introduction to the stark reality of facing such an unforgiving force. Jacobs will get to know the truth behind the hype and Golovkin will bring the truth out of him once the first bell rings. It will be fun for the short time that it lasts.

 

Fight is on PPV because Jacobs demanded career high payday.
There's nothing likeable about him.
Kov ward could have been on regular Hbo too but divas are gonna div.

 

One thing about the 24/7 & this fight. It should be just that a FIGHT!!. Like someone said earlier Both these guys are FIGHTERS !!!! Both can bang!! Will be better value for money than watching Feather Fisted Floyd talk macho but then prance around the ring like The Sugar Plum Fairy ROFL

Oh for sure though I'm not sure it's entirely the network,may be wrong but wasn't this one of the sticking points with Jacobs in the negotiations,guess Jacobs felt that he wanted some of that PPV money as it's a fight between one and no two in the division,thing is Ward v Kovalev on PPV sort of showed that PPV nos have nothing to do with boxing quality do they?

One for the fight fans,didn't know Jacobs been calling him the bogeyman,despite what the Canelo crowd on here say there's no question about how he's been avoided going way back,funny though how it took a career welterweight a brave one but stupid in Kell Brook to show the way and go for it,Jacobs as said as much,now then can Danny Jacobs take a shot as well as Brook and can he box and uppercut like Brook,if he can he has a chance.

why wouldnt jacobs demand a career high payday? isnt he fighting an ATG? isnt he fighting a star in boxing? one that sells out arenas? one that deserves more than 15 mil against canelo? arent these all things we hear on a daily basis when ggg fans need to use them to save any shred of dignity they have left?

so why wouldnt jacobs demand a career high payday against the MW champ of the world who sells out all the areans? who is a huge draw? should jacobs take the same pay as he took against mora? what kind of logic would that be?

The original 24/7 with Floyd started all of it. It was good quality at the start. Eventually the show became the same 'ol ****. Floyd spending money, Floyd talking nonsense to the camera. Pac wasn't any better. Religious BS, how he's such a good role model, how he helps his people so much .... The divas Pac AND Floyd killed the show.
