Who Would Have Won If Haye Didnt Wreck His Achilles?

Haye but nowhere near as clear cut as he predicted.

 

Haye after the first couple rounds calmed down and was finding a rhythm.

He was obviously trying to blast Tony out and underestimated Tony or over estimated his own power.

If Haye hadn't of torn his Achilles even at 50% of his former self he would have beaten Tony in the later rounds. Tony also gassed

 

Precisely. But only Haye gets a pass it seems.

Bellew wasn't bombed out in the first three rounds, which all came before the injury, so it's not out of the realms of possibility he would have still taken Haye deep like he said he would and stopped him late.

 

I think your forgetting bellew was gassed he could not finish haye and when haye on the ropes hit him he was hurt but haye could do nothing. A fit haye would of won his timing started to come back to him from round 3 and it was time until he connected. Bellew was based by round 5.

 

Yup, Bellew was tiring before the Haye injury, carrying too much weight. I don't think Haye can get through a camp anymore, Adam Booth mentioned afterwards that it was obvious to him that Haye hadn't sparred properly for this

 

Obviously Haye. Bellew barely landed on him from half way through the second round to the fifth round, and Haye was finding his range and landing a lot more shots on Bellew. It looked like Bellew was very tired, and was going to get KO'ed in the next round.

 

David Haye. As the rounds would go on, you would of likely of seen David become more successful with his hard punches due to Tony Bellew beginning to get tired. I don't think Tony would of had the stamina nor the punching power to stop David from coming forward. In the end the bigger man would wear down the smaller man.

 

Of course Haye beats bellew if not for the rupture. Obviously he was injured going in so he tried for the early ko, got injured and that was that.

I'm very surprised he was able to stand that long and even walk a little with THAT KIND OF RUPTURED TENDON

Proving his toughness was something that David most likely felt he needed to do because of all the stick he got over the Klitschko fight. Now that demon is gone, he badly wants the Bellew. I don't think Bellew will rematch him.

 

If Haye truly nends that revenge, it'll cost the entire purse. I don't see the real need for it . Haye (lmao) was competitive with a ruptured Achilles, that's all I need to see

 

It's going to cost him a lot, so it's a question over pride and money. I don't think the rematch will happen, I don't think Bellew really wants that fight. David has basically said though that Bellew holds all the cards, but I can't see him accepting anything less than 50-50. Is the money going to be too good for Bellew to refuse? Who knows, but Haye will smash him apart if they fight agian.

 

Haye was winning the fight up to the point he injured himself, but it wasn't like he was giving Bellew a beating.

In fact, Tony implemented a great gameplan for the first 5 rounds from a defensive standpoint. He gauged the distance almost perfectly and never let Haye get too comfortable (or accurate,) when he was throwing shots. While David connected with a flush shot here and there, he was missing a lot more and I'm assuming Bellew's original strategy was just to tire him out into the back half of the fight.

Who knows how it would've played out had Haye not get injured; if his stamina and conditioning were top notch I'm assuming he would've won a decision victory. But Bellew and his team put forth a very good gameplan and he executed it quite well on fight night.

 

Haye middle rounds stoppage. Thought he had begun to establish dominance and was starting to outbox Bellew clearly, a KO probably would have shortly followed.

 

If Haye didn't wreck his achilles he would have hurt something ese. Before fight or during fight. The man is delicate, he can't get through a training camp without breaking.
