Floyd Mayweather reflects on "Easy" knockout of Ricky Hatton, I'm a completely different breed.

I miss Mayweather boxing. I doubt there will be another like him. His talent was amazing but his willing to take on the best was another thing that gets forgotten

 

I don't remember this fight being easy at all lol Pac vs hatton well that was easy

 

Outside 140 hatton lost his strengths. Because above it the other man was stronger than him. Dont think cortez,s bias effected it much in the end...mayweather was handling him on the inside. When cortez figured it out he went a bit easier on breaking them. Shocking night from him tho. We knew going in there was a skill level between them...the fight was anticipated because of the clash of styles. Cortez took hattons style out of the equation tho. As i said i dont think it mattered in the end...floyd was probably stronger.

Floyds got a point. Different levels of dedication. Hatton was a beast at the training but guys like floyd are basically training like professionals from the start. In gyms every day of their lives growing up. Becomes too big a gap to bridge. Think some of its influenced by his old man not working out with hatton tho cause hattons foot speed made mayweather uncomfortable in their. Was a bit better effort than mayweathers willing to give credit for.

 

Wrong! Do you think no one was following boxing back then to call you out on your bull****? PBF offered to fight Hatton back when he had beat Gatti and Hatton beat Zoo at 140. Hatton's team declined stating he wasn't ready and PBF moved up to 147 to chase Zab. Even still Hatton called PBF out after he beat JLC and never made any excuses about the weight, in fact he said that the weight would not be an issue because PBF was small and didn't blow up and he wouldn't have to spend as much time in camp cutting weight. Hatton also weighed more than PBF did on fight night fighting at 140 as PBF did fighting at 147. So next time know what **** you're talking about before popping off dummy.

Blame Hatton. He turned PBF down when both were at 140. PBF moved up, was the lineal champ at 147. Why in the hell would he move back all the way down to 140 to face Hatton, when he had just fought Oscar at 154 the previous fight? PBF beats Hatton worse at 140, which IMO was a better weight for him than 147. He lost some of his lateral quickness when he moved up to 147.

 

Mayweather a decent fighter.

Predictably, this turned into a bit of a weight debate, but I'm really wondering if any of you noticed the paleness of Hatton and how much healthier he looked during the U.K. Press Tour of Floyd vs Hatton. You know the one where Floyd started dancing and singing to the crowd chanting "there's only 1 Ricky Hatton" then turned serious after Hatton called him a puff?

Why did Hatton become so pale when he got to Vegas? Was it a struggle to make 147? It was only a year and a half since he moved up to 147, so I'm not sure that theory makes a lot of sense.

 

I'm a Floyd fan but that was far from an easy fight. I think I had it even going into the 2nd half then Floyd turned it up a notch. Even Merchant was impressed saying this is the Floyd we want to see all the time.
