Beterbiev vs Barrera canceled ; Barrera bails from fight

It's very odd because Duva was talking about how she likes barerras chances in an article earlier in the day then we hear this. I don't know who to blame it could be her, it could be Barrera got cold feet or it could be his manager.

 

Honestly I think that Duva talked up Barrera's chances to deflect blame from her side. She surely already knew that the fight would fall through.

Lool Sanchez did him really dirty in after that Ward fight.

 

First they were claiming Barrera never looked better since leaving Big bear now his time at Big Bear is used as impetus to explain his cowardly actions.

He said if Kovalev had been in there with Ward instead of Barerra that night he would have beaten Ward. Thats very disrespectful to his fighter, he's basically saying a poor version of Ward schooled Barerra and Kovalev is so much better than his fighter.

 

Not gonna happen. The IBF doesn't hand out mandatories anymore. If Team Bummerbiev wants a mandatory then they'll have to fight for one..

 

Yeah wouldn't be surprised it's not like she hasn't done this before.

This ****ing sucks, it must suck for Artur being blatantly ducked yet he'll still have naysayers calling him a bum who only fights bums. The business side of this sport can be so infuriating sometimes

 

I think that there is more to it than him just being scared. Fighters now days are taking a lot more notice on the business side of boxing because quite frankly it is a very dangerous sport. They are making sure that the money is worth the risk. He had no problem taking the fight so something had to go wrong on the business end.

 

If the numbers are too believed Barerra was set to get only 60k for this fight. Minus the training camp, promoter fee, sancationing fee, coach and team fees his take home amount would probably be about 15k. I don't know about you but fighting Beterbiev for 15k is mental. I don't usually talk about numbers and all that bull**** but none of us on this forum would take a fight of that risk for such a small amount.

Duva and Barerra probably looked at it and said wtf are we doing taking one of the riskiest fight in the division for probably his smallest pay day in the past few years.
