    With that being said he shouldn't have agreed to it only to take it back it reflects very badly on him and it just wastes Beterbiev's time who is most certainly tryna kick on with his career.

    I was looking forward to this fight. Wonder what happened with Barrera. He seemed to sound like he wanted the fight.

    Oh, thats for sure. Dont even bother thinking Stevenson will step up now that Beterbiev no longer has a dancing parter.
    He would rather have a trilogy with Sakio Bika before that happens.

    Hey dude, would you fight for 62k the money is insane 75% for Beter (188k) and 25% for Barrera (62k) who got better record than him don't forget he was willing to go Canada to fight him not too long, this fight should be 50-50.

    Not enough money would you fight for 50K after paying everybody you will end up with some peanuts in your pocket.

    The figure I heard is 62k. But surely Barrera knew how much money was in the pot and what the split was going to after the purse bid and that was over five weeks ago? 75-25 is the IBF rules. If GYM lost the purse bid wouldn't Beterbiev have only pocketed 45k given how Main Events' losing bid was 181,000k?

    Artur Beterbiev’s promoter won a purse bid Thursday for the right to promote the IBF light heavyweight elimination match between contenders Beterbiev and Sullivan Barrera. The purse bid took place Thursday afternoon at the IBF’s headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey. Quebec’s Yvon Michel, Beterbiev’s promoter, won with a bid of $251,000. Main Events, the New Jersey company that promotes Barrera, bid just over $181,000.

    Michel and Main Events were the only promoters to submit bids. Michel has 15 days to submit an official contract for the fight, including the date and site, to Main Events. The Beterbiev-Barrera fight must be scheduled for within 90 days of Thursday. There would be a 75-25 split in favor of Beterbiev for this bout. That means Beterbiev would earn $188,250 if it were to happen. Barrera’s cut would be $62,750.

    the problem is no one wants to fight beterbiev unless they are getting retirement money

    tavoris cloud took the fight with beterbiev because don king tricked him into think they were feeding him a green prospect to get him back on track, the man ends fighters

    GYM said that even journeymen are looking for 100k plus to fight beterbiev, he will walk to the title, ward will vacate

    Yeah that could well happen.

    That's because he possess genuinely scary power. Cloud had never been off his feet before, and AFAIA neither had Prieto either or stopped. Alexander Johnson and Maderna had never been stopped either, granted the later was a SMW. And Rayco Saunders had only been stopped once before in 45 fights. He's subsequently been stopped since but he's still only failed to last the full route 3 times in 54 fights (and he's fought a lot of good guys) and he's getting on now (he's 42). And Artur fought him in just his 2nd pro outing and the only reason he didn't fight someone of Cloud's calibre in his 2nd or 3rd fight was because IIRC there was a rule in Canadian boxing preventing him from doing so.

    And yes poor Cloud got the shock of his life. He seems to have completely disappeared after that. I've tried looking for interviews with him but to no avail.

    Bet is making 3 times more than Barrera total purse 251K, 75% for Bet 25% for Barrera.
