I'd say that's pretty accurate. They also build a golden statue of Haye outside Downing Street that dispenses candy floss to little kiddies.
You're obviously just trolling for a joke. You make these types of comments just to be different. Ha! You obviously take the best version of each guy. Forget Mike fighting Williams and Lennox. He was washed up only fighting for money at that point. The tank was empty. David was a talented guy in his prime. But considering that he's never had a great defence, and he's had confidence issues with Wlad and Valuev, I'd take a mid 80's version of Mike all day long. Mike would have been the aggressor, and David would had to have fought him hard to have beaten him. And I just can't envisage how he'd have done that. I think he'd have had too much respect, and not enough confidence. In my opinion, a guy who trained in stilts to fight Valuev, and who then cautiously stood off of him for 12 rounds, just wouldn't have had the mindset to have dealt with what Mike brought. I think there's a very good chance that David would have been stopped.
We must have been watching different fighters. Mike would have gone at him like a train. Look at their size, style and attributes: David wasn't considerably bigger. He didn't possess a great jab. He wasn't a southpaw. He didn't have slick skills and a great defence. He likes to pot shot people. If you take the above into account, David's only realistic option to have beaten Mike, would have been to have done it in a shootout. He could never have have outboxed him, and I don't think he'd ever have tried to have done that. I really can't envisage David having gone toe to toe with Mike. You've also got to take into account the psychological aspect of things. David's been very cautious in the past, and at his best, Mike intimidated most of his opposition. Nobody knows what David's mindset would have been going into the fight. I honestly can't see how David would have taken him out early. I have a very hard time picturing David fighting Mike hard, going for a knockout. I think it's completeley unrealistic.
Even late 90's Mike Tyson bombs Haye out early but Haye would never ever have fought somebody like Tyson.
You make some interesting points and made me view it a bit differently. Haye never had any problems with smaller fighters when hydrated. It was bigger fighters that caused him problems and he was able to take big shots off of Wlad and be in the ring with someone so much bigger like Valuev. Bruno was able to hurt Tyson and I think Haye would be able to finish someone if he hurt them like that. As said I think it could be who lands first, but wouldnt be shocked with it being Haye with the extra height and reach Slightly favour Haye still
Any version of Tyson up to and including the Golota fight would absolutely murder Haye. 80s Tyson would give him the Spinks treatment. And I'm not kidding. 90 seconds.
