Canelo v Lemieux: Who you got ?

If Canelo doesn't fight GGG, Lemieux-Canelo would be entertaining!

I would have to give the edge to Lemieux. However, I doubt if we will see El Pollo come near Lemieux or Golovkin period!

 

Pick em in some respects but I'd give the edge to Lemieux.

 

Canelo is a well-rounded natural counter puncher with a tight defense, great combinations and good pop.

Lemieux has great power but at the end of the day he's a guy who loads up on his shots and leaves himself open to counters.

Think about it.

 

Canelo has done great when outweighing his opponents by a good deal.

How will he do against a true 160 guy with tremendous power? Not very well I think.

That said PHLLA ^ has a point, Canelo is a good counterpuncher so he could still do OK.

I'd say 60-40 to Lemieux.

 

Canelo is a top top Boxer, better than sloppy Curtis Stevens. But there is a reason why Oscar has kept him away from Middleweights.

 

Canelo has nothing for Lemieux. Not a thing.

 

Tough fight to call. We don't have a ton of information on how Canelo would deal with someone with Lem's power. I'm sure it would be a fun fight and one I would love to see, but with the way Canelo is being managed right now and with how much GBP relies on him to make money I doubt we will see this fight.
