To say it lightly, you are exagerrating when saying that he "almost knocked him out", it's just that it threw him off-balance but he recovered immediately. You are right in saying that it's not GGG chin what saved him but the defensive responsibility (the right hand remained there to block that punch).

While Golovkin indeed has good punch resistance, and he took some shots from Lemieux, I don't remember anything landing flash on his chin. His stance makes it difficult to land anything but uppercots on the chin, so usually Golovkin sees and anticipates all the punches that he takes.

 

Best Chin in Boxing at the Moment Golovkin.....but I would advise him not to give Jacobs a free Hit...
