I knew you were going to call that out but I couldn't bring myself to include inferior fighters. I will knit them each a handsome belt in reward of their excellence.

    6. Fitzsimmons
    7. Ketchell
    8. LaMotta
    9. Steele
    10. Cerden

    11. Charlie Burley
    12. MaCullum

    Modern era

    1.Pavlik
    2. Martinez
    3. Jermain Taylor.
    4. Sergio Mrtinez.

I can't decide between Arthur Abhram and Golovkin for the number 5 spot. Both resumes are interchangeable. Arthur has the added bonus of being a two weight world champion.

Then you are asking for a top ten title holder list which is neither mutually exclusive nor collectively exhaustive of a top ten middleweight list.

Honorable mention to Rodrigo Valdez...a bit of a wild card in that on a given night, he was capable of ko'ing a few of the ones I listed...or at the very least, giving each a hell of a fight.

Rodrigo Valdez is a helluva mention Red...IMHO he takes Steele, Fullmer,...and maybe Griffith? I think Walker could ride him out...On your list...he might knock off a few on mine as well...Dangerous puncher.

Theres no goddamned way Valdez ranks over Steele. Steele's resume should be the stuff of legend. I can't believe that supposedly knowledgeable folks, those who spend all day pontificating on heavyweights, don't know the most basic facts of even the middleweight division, one that is supposedly popular.

That's why I STFU on this one. Some of those guys I haven't watched many fights of at all. ;)

    Ketchel
    Greb
    Walker
    Steele
    Robinson
    Tiger
    Griffith
    Monzon
    Hagler
    Hopkins

It's such a deep division. Even without the guys who never won the belt I've left off Fitz and Flowers, Lamotta and Jones, all those guys from the 10s and 30s.

I am asking for a list of the top ten men who held the middleweight title.Nothing more ,nothing less ,and dressing it up in flowery verbiage wont make the criteria I specified to arrive at said top ten any different.
